Imp Tower
🕑 Added 2014-07-16 14:55:01 +0000 UTC I’m having fun working in three dimensions with areas that are not easily accessible to the average adventurer, thus explaining why extraordinary adventurers are required as well as why these areas have not yet been plundered. In the case of “Imp Tower”, a decrepit stone tower sits over a hole that leads down to a cave, definitely home to something nasty with wings that the locals don’t have the skills, manpower and bravado to take care of. Sure, someone could climb down the shaft exposed in the floor of the ruined tower, or up or down the cliff face to get to the cave, but the entire time they would be sitting ducks for the beasts that claim these caves as their home. --- For those of you at the Backstage Pass level, you'll note that you haven't had one recently. That's because I've fallen behind again (took a lot of work putting our new apartment together and taking care of some health care stuff and paperwork). This map was actually drawn the night before it was posted. My goal is to put a week into map drawing and get ahead again, at which point another backstage pass will be released.

Nice, if your looking for inaccessible places I found submerged/flooded areas are great for explaining treasure left behind. One of my players favorite was a ruined dwarf keep that led to a small underground lake that had formed after dwarves had abandoned the area. Under the water were passages to many other areas, many that had dry areas up out of the water.
