Chapter 63 Commissioned, The Light in the shadows
🕑 Added 2022-12-22 00:24:43 +0000 UTCIn contrast to the Leagues somber meeting as they watched Lorde's actions the Light was a completely different atmosphere as the more... Human and squishy members of the Light realized that Lorde knew of them and seemingly made it his life's goal to kill them all despite the Light actually not taking directly going against the young man previously.
Thus, members like Queen Bee, Lex Luthor, and Zviad Baazovi despite their powers in mind control or just super in intelligence in Luthor's case, they rightfully feared Lorde's hunting of them as the young man made his goal very apparent.
"And how secure are these magical protections then?" Luthor asked frowning as everyone watched the newest hot news article being played out that consisted of Lorde using the corpses of both Ocean Master and Black Manta to wreck Luthor's office suite and offices before he blew up the whole tower when it was evacuated along with the battered armored corpses of the two super villains of the Atlantean region.
"I know who you all are! I know where you all are! I will find you all and kill you all to save the world from your plans!" Lorde roared shaking the nearby reinforced metropolis skyscrapers windows as his voice carried throughout the city and thus the news anchor went onto to piece together how the shadow organization had something to do with the last terrorist attack and was clearly going to do something far worse than kill a couple hundred thousand people.
The news article was shut down as Luthor slammed his hands down on the table that was in front of himself. "Well? What has this seer or whatever seen you doing and sent him on a rampage and throw aside his heroic weakness?" Luthor demanded as he snarled at how his very company was slipping out of his grasp with how it utterly tanked in value when Lorde later put out information of Lex Tech employee's help setup cruel cages to traffic captured metahumans to be delivered to third world nations that the Light firmly controlled.
"Hehe He probably saw how I was going to split the world into two parallel worlds with one having children and the other having only adults, but I thought it was funny as all get out Haha!" Klarion insanely laughed.
Vandal Savage grunted, and the room went silent as the immortal was considered to be the first among this group of equals. "Klarion... The children would die in droves, wouldn't they?" Vandal asked dryly.
Klarion cackled with even his demonic cat matching the back-and-forth motion before the Chaos Lord managed to get a measure of control over himself.
"Of course!? What else would break the little hero's hearts then once the world merges back together, that they would have to spend weeks if not months picking little babies out of walls when all the cars that were driven by the adults just disappear Haha!" More than one Light member looked at Klarion in pure disbelief as although they were willing to commit any number of small atrocities, but such a thing would get the whole world brought down on their head and the more magical aware here. Knew all too well that many things lurking in the supernatural shadows of the world would take umbrage in the sight of all those pure souls being reaped and lost in the fracture between worlds.
"And according to Batman's files of Lorde which clearly depicted the man as a seer with powerful clear sight that seemingly doesn't fail, he is using his full power to hunt us down after seeing that event... Even if Klarion were to disband the plan, that will not stop Lorde's hunt for us as he will still consider us a threat for even coming up with and collection the reagents for the ritual." Vandal Savage spoke with his deep voice silencing Luthor who was still asking if his magical protections were good enough.
"So, we kill him and get rid of the problem. Get me Ares's sword or another mystical weapon and I myself will take care of him." Deathstroke said with clear relish for the challenge in his voice but before Vandal who had such weapons could respond Queen Bee stood up hurriedly drawing everyone's eyes to her as she hurriedly pulled up another holographic monitor.
"Lorde is here! Klarion pull me out of here!" Queen Bee begged as the muffled sounds of explosions and the sounds of rubble being pushed aside was finally audible through Queen Bee's audio system.
"Hmm? Nope you are an idiot who wanted her little bug out to shelter below your very palace. You don't deserve to live Haha!" Klarion burst into laughter and before Vandal Savage could order the Chaos Lord to go save Queen Bee, Klarion just dipped out of the meeting as a black and red portal swirled over his form and left his call open with Klarion off doing his own thing.
"Do we have any assets in the area that could help her?" Luthor asked quietly as he realized having a Superman level threat hunting you down with no mercy in sight was terrible for one's mental and physical health. And with how Lorde slaughtered Belle Reve would turning himself in for some minor jail time even work? No Luthor was stuck...
Then Luthor had a thought. He knew where all the bases of all the Light members due to his own employees being the ones to build them and although they were mindwiped by Queen Bee and Psimon, but that didn't stop him from sneaking in microscopic transmitters that could record a few minutes of conversation before shorting out.
Luthor realized if he wanted to possibly survive Lorde's wrath he would need to rat, or just offer up anything he could to buy the time for him to get off planet as Lorde had shown no such abilities going beyond Earth.
"Psimon will only infuriate him even further with his hatred of mind control... I am sorry Queen Bee. I wish you a smooth ride to the afterlife." Vandal Savage said coldly as with a final metallic crunching noise the large vault door was busted open and Lorde himself seemingly wearing more blood than clothes strode in with his eyes glancing at Queen Bee before his eyes locked on Vandal Savage.
