Terrarian Chapter 34
🕑 Added 2023-01-16 23:23:43 +0000 UTCWhen it came done to it. We had absolutely no idea what good sit-down restaurants were here in Orario, I mean sure the Hostess was alright, but it was a Familia hang out for a reason not the place for a candle lit dinner.
Not only had I not really explored Orario due to how huge and dangerous it could be to wander the alleyway's and such, but for Bell and Hestia? Well, they had always been broke as hell, money wise to put simply. When you have to live off of primarily the leftover thrown out food from the food cart you worked at, that meant you were very much below the poverty line.
So, in the end we settled to going to this restaurant on the edge of the Entertainment District that was pretty upscale, and we all shared a circular booth in one of the corners of the restaurant.
The interior was softly lit up with pink and red shaded monster stone lights so there was a nice romantic atmosphere and all the servers were girls probably even from the Entertainment District that had a good running with customer service as they stuck the fine line in getting what we wanted without getting into our space and interfering with our date.
"Hmm, the place is nice. It's surprising that it doesn't smell like the entertainment district you know." Hestia wryly spoke as Bell naively tilted her head.
"What's wrong with the entertainment district? Its where the colosseum is, and the Ganesha Familia is always keeping it clean and what not?" Bell spoke and I wanted to facepalm as she didn't think of the flip side of things.
"Bell, she means the night side of the entertainment district when Ishtar is queen, and it becomes the Red-Light District where her amazons prowl on the hunt for unsuspecting prey for them to pounce upon and drag them into their parlors to suck them dry." I spoke completely truthfully as Bell in canon got 'dragged' into there without his consent and with Phryne taking him... Yeah after that monster got done with him, he likely would have been better off dead.
"Jeez Jake, you make it sound like they are vampires or something." Hestia joked but that got me thinking.
"I mean there are werewolves, is there or were their vampires?" I asked the two goddesses who shared a look before shrugging.
"Thats a good question, and I don't personally know as I frankly didn't spend too much time watching Genkai due to the amount of work I had in my Pantheon. But if there once were Vampire's in the sense that they needed to drink the blood of mortals in order to survive then it's perfectly possible they did exist at one point but died out when the mortal population's hit the point of extinction in certain areas." Seshat explained and I nodded in understanding as the era before the dungeon was sealed was a literal hellscape of a world.
"Nope never heard about actual vampires for me either but I know some people got some blood manipulation skills or spells after the Falna became more popular so maybe from their?" Hestia offered and I thanked for the info as I dug into my baked chicken and potatoes.
"So, Hestia perhaps you would like to work with Seshat or myself running our shop which sells magical artifacts?" I offered as I had noticed Hestia was getting a bit fidgety about staying in our tower without an official chores, duties or ways to provide for our dual Familia's as Bell had managed to convince her to quit working at the fried potato stand, she had been working at.
Granted even I hadn't really been running the shop either, Seshat had a good handle of it and only Freya and Loki's adventurers had been allowed into the tower to buy stuff from us so as to avoid nonsense like a Soma druggie trying to rob the shop while I was gone and Sir Fluffykins needing to kill the druggie as he typically spent his time guarding the shop.
Hestia's twin tails actually twitched and flew around in her excitement as she smiled and threw me and Seshat a thumbs up. "Alright you got it!"
"Yay Goddess got a new job!" Bell said excitedly clapping her hands making Hestia smugly grin and making me especially want to ask if getting a job from the people you been living with for a week was an actual accomplishment?
But instead of pulling at Hestia I just enjoyed the happy atmosphere as I held Seshat's hand beneath our table as she leaned against me and slowly ate her smoked fish with some vegetables.
"So, Jake, I had a bit of a personal question if you don't mind?" Bell started off and I looked to her with a raised eyebrow. "I see you're a pretty responsible person for the most part. But I was curious when you planned to like to start a family, or do you plan on being devoted in your relationship to your goddess?" Bell asked making me honestly hum in thought for a minute as I gathered my thoughts.
I mean I was back in my like seventeen/eighteen-year-old form so I obviously wasn't needing to go about rushing into starting a family. Though I wouldn't hate if I snagged a certain fox girl and made a wife out of her as Haruhime was best girl.
"Me and Seshat already discussed how she understood as a mortal I would need to have progeny as well as being a beastkin goddess she finds the thought of me creating a pack or similar attractive." I spoke bluntly as Seshat chuffed in amusement at Hestia's scandalized expression.
"But what about the love between you two Seshat!?" Hestia hissed.
Seshat languidly looked at Hestia with her golden slitted eyes as she bluntly responded with zero tact. "I love Jake, I love his dick, and I would love to hold his children whether they be from my womb or another's... So long as he stays away from Ishtar, I don't care what he does or who he takes, as I don't want to catch something even if I am immune to all mortal sicknesses." Seshat joked winking at Hestia meaningfully making the virgin goddess squawk in outrage as me and Bell chuckled.
Though now that I was sitting in a rather enclosed area and not just walking around Orario I noticed the Beastkin girls working here were giving me extra looks and making excuses to bend over so I could see down their shirts and see their unmarked shoulders as they came literally every time, I took a drink out of my sweet tea.
The sight made me curious how Anya and Chloe from the Hostess would react or even Rose my guild advisor were going to react. Especially with Rose who was woman in her later twenties who was getting desperate to settle down and get married. I was even scheduled to meet her tomorrow for my biweekly Guild Advisor tutoring as I was still the first member of my Familia and had thus, I was supposed to have no backing or real teachers.
Because most Familia's treated one another as enemies for whatever the hell reason... No seriously the dungeon was massive, and it wasn't like we were struggling to kill enough monsters to make ends meet. But it was perfectly natural for you to meet someone in the dungeon and kill them as it was lawless area where only strength mattered...
I was dragged out of my thoughts as once again one of the beastkin girls came over, this time this one was a very voluptuous blond with soft brown eyes cow beastkin with a motherly air similar to Demeter came over and bent over to pick up the plate with her large breasts hanging next my face as she spoke softly with a literal southern drawl that made me actually want to take her into the back. "Thank you sweety for cleaning the plate. Would like 'anything' at all for dessert? I make an absolutely to die for milk shake." She offered and Seshat reached forward and squeezed my dick not in warning to say 'No' but instead in a. 'Go get em tiger' method as she visibly pushed me towards the girl, so my face got pushed into her wide-open chest.
"Ah Beatrice was it? I am his goddess, and he adores milkshakes so please take him and get him a drink as he needs all the fluids for when he takes care of me tonight... Also make sure he gives you a drink as well" Seshat said with all the innuendo in the world as the blond cowgirl quaked as I stood up beside her and despite how voluptuous she was, she was still a mite short thing that didn't even hit five feet tall in comparison to my flat six-foot height.
"Yes, Sir and Lady Goddess." The cowgirl spoke and I noticed her eyes dilated as she stared up at me and then Seshat asked another question.
"Oh, and what Familia are you part of girl?" She asked nonchalantly and Beatrice just shook her head as she stared up at me.
"No Familia... The gods who wanted to recruit me only wanted to perv on me and the other Familia's didn't want to take me as I just want to make good food." Beatrice spoke with a bit more clarity to her eyes and then she blushed as she seemingly came back to her senses at the questioning.
"You still want to give Jake a custom 'milkshake' or you back to your senses girl?" Seshat teased her and the waitress hurriedly bowed and quietly asked for forgiveness as this was one of the best places for her to keep working to become an actual chef and honestly this was making me feel a bit bad as I thought she was just a thirsty woman out of the entertainment district trying to get some side action on a guy who was interesting.
"Bah its whatever, Jake is a good man so it's understandable you would attempt to project your desire. It's what mortals do after all." Seshat spoke wisely as waved off the cowgirl's apologies, but I had noticed she had been writing some kind of note for the last minute or two during this whole scene was playing out. "Here read this note, follow it after you are done working, and we can see what happens. Now skedaddle little morsel before I ask Jake to push you under the table Haha!" Seshat laughed showing off her cat like disregard for others as cowgirl took the note and made her getaway.
"Uhm Lady Seshat I don't know what was happening, but what was on that note you gave her?" Bell asked a couple minutes later as we finished off our food and I was leaving some money to pay all our food as well a nice tip for the waitress's that had taken such good care of our table.
Seshat smiled but it wasn't a loving, kind, or even a joking smile, it was the smile of a cat who ate the canary in the most literal sense of the term.
"Oh, I just gave a lost mortal some divine inspiration. If Jake can recruit Hestia to man our store so I can nap more often, than I can recruit a chef who can save us money on the packed meals that go into your dungeon meals." Seshat said proudly like she actually accomplished something...
I needed to spank my goddess again for being troublesome.
