Nier Chapter 91
🕑 Added 2023-01-29 08:57:45 +0000 UTCRealizing I was a discount Yukari filled my mind with infinite possibilities as I knew damned well her control over the concept of a Gap was all encompassing and she could do damn near anything with that niche ability from raising the dead to creating dimensions and countless other things.
But I could feel Jeanne's massive aura flagging as she boosted my semblance to untold heights and with a blink, I used my own aura to open a portal just beside the containers that had the fabricators to be loaded onto the rockets and with a loud whooshing noise the portal sucked the cargo containers into the portal and to be instantly spewed onto the shattered moon above us as I shut closed the portal to the moon and sagged against Jeanne.
"Jake the signal says the fabricators are on one of major meteors in orbit between Remnants moon and Remnant itself! What the hell did you do!" O6 screeched as Jeanne wrapped her arms around my waist to prop me up.
"I teleported the fabricators up there. Just call the transports so we can get back to Beacon, a powerful pulse of magic like that is going to attract attention we cannot handle without orbital bombardment being in the cards." I grimaced as I stabilized myself and thank the gods that Jeanne's boosting of my semblance also took up some of the weight of using my semblance as both our Aura's tanked to nil at me opening a portal almost to the moon even for just a couple seconds at most.
Thankfully we were on the complete other side of launch system, so we didn't even get pulled off our feet as the portal sucked the containers into space, but that lucky fact could be just the fact that me and Jeanne both didn't have strong enough Aura's to hold the portal open for longer.
"Jake. Did you seriously just throw a space station up into space because Jeanne was pouring her soul into you and giving you the strength to do such an impossible task..." Pyrrha spoke with an utter deadpan as she looked between me and Jeanne.
"Such a disgusting pair. It's like the two are out of some terrible romance comics where they hold hands and banish the evil queen to outer space or something!" Ruby spat and her words gave me a easy idea how I could deal with Salem the immortal queen of the Grimm here on Remnant.
"Ruby you are a genius!" I said excitedly as I tiredly hugged Ruby in my arms and literally spun her around making her squeak out in surprise before I dropped her dizzy form on the ground and dragged Jeanne off to tell Weiss we were leaving soon.
A couple minutes later after explaining to Weiss that with Jeanne's hacking semblance as well as my own being boosted I could easily at any time send out things into space for a couple seconds, I left the cargo container with her and Jeanne as we walked over to 2B who was showing Ruby how to use a YoRHa railgun that shot depleted Uranium and other super dense rounds.
"Now when you want to shoot a railgun, the biggest change from smaller arms is that you are no longer aiming for the weak points of grim. With the railgun you need to be hitting the largest part of the body as the round is also an explosive round so once it penetrates it will explode." 2B spoke as she coached Ruby and then it got weird.
"This wonderful gun design was partly inspired by Jake in his Humanity Supremacy trinity line of munitions. The Holy Bolter, Melta, and Flamer." 2B spoke with reverence but Ruby with her weapon fetish just overlooked all the dogma and wanted to know more about the weapons in question.
"What is a Bolter, Melta, and a Flamer? Like I get a flamer is a flamethrower or something, but the others don't make sense?!" Ruby asked excitedly and all I could do was facepalm.
'Yang is going to kill me for turning her sister into a Sister of Battle.' I bemoaned as 2B picked up some more enthusiasm as she mistook Ruby's fervor to be for me instead of the weapons themselves.
"The Bolter represents the hand of Jake Barris, his divine hand in moving us across the cosmos and saving us from the perdition of our failure in our last world! Each bullet from a holy bolter is a fist from his slamming into a foe and the explosion that comes from each round is his great magic making anything possible!" 60 Excitedly explained and that's the reason why I didn't spend too much time with the Operator units. Their out of the box thinking always made them go off the deep end when it came to me anyway.
Then 2B explained what a flamer was though with much less... Weird stuff added on for Ruby to ignore and Pyrrha to throw weird looks at me for. "The Flamer doesn't only symbolize a simple flame thrower though it does. It means a continuous attacking system that others have taken to meaning to purify an area of all dissidents with all-consuming flames, chemicals, radiation, or any number of things to pacify an area."
Jeanne and Pyrrha both gave me wry looks at that, but they did get a bit of context in how YoRHa on their previous world was locked onto a ten thousand plus year war with the Machine Army and understood their situation. As the people of Remnant have had to deal with Grimm as well, even if they weren't as much of an issue if you were a city dweller.
Though that didn't mean you were always safe even in Vale. Because infantile Nevermore regularly killed a couple people every week as they were ignored by Vale's automated anti air defenses in order to save resources and the birds could literally be killed easily by even a ten-year-old civilian child with something like a tennis racket by swatting them out of the air.
I coughed to get their attention. "Girls did you call the transports for us?" I asked and 2B nodded.
"Yes Jake, extraction will be called for you and your team's extraction. While I and the other androids will be staying here to form an established base so YoRHa can begin integrating further into Vale's economy by beginning mass harvesting of the Everfall forest sap." 2B answered as Ruby vibrated in place.
"What is the Blaster! Don't cut her off again Jake, or I swear I will put super-hot chilies in your strawberry ice cream bars!" Ruby yelled at me making me raise my hands in surrender.
'Yeah, I shouldn't have stepped between Ruby and her fetish honestly.' I thought as Weiss legitimately stepped behind me to keep the scary sight of Ruby losing her shit out of her view.
6O then continued the cringe religious dogma filled description of the blasters that YoRHa used in tesla cannons from like Fallout that I encouraged the creation of as YoRHa androids were mostly devoid of long-range options in the field and that one was perfect against Machine forces due to its shooting a beam of pure energy that would disintegrate a meter of concrete in less than a second. Then she also got into YoRHa's POD's that acted as the right hands of all androids on the field.
"Then where's your guy's pods then?" Ruby asked looking around for the Xbox series X looking flying box's that typically followed YoRHa forces.
6O and 2B shared a look before 2B spoke gruffly. "The Bullhead factory we built just outside Vale got hit by White Fang terrorist who attempted to steal YoRHa technology." I frowned and looked to my androids in complete confusion on why in the hell I never heard about this and when 2B continued my eyes couldn't help beginning twitching as I covered my face.
"Obviously subhuman mutants would pose little threat and even with Aura that didn't stop high powered laser battery systems rated to shoot through Machine Army and Grimm titans like Alpha Nevermore and other massive Grimm from cutting the criminals in half." 2B spoke callously before she added on. "Ah I meant to say that almost all of YoRHa POD's are currently helping secure other YoRHa facilities as some of the White Fang survived the attack so we are not sure if they will retaliate somehow."
'Thank fucking god Blake wasn't on my team despite her having the greatest ass in RWBY, she would be screaming right now.' I thought screaming myself internally.
I just turned around with a soft thumping noise I just hugged Jeanne and screamed into her chest as I wondered if Adam Taurus the vale leader of the White Fang died.

I love how we can feel Jake cringe from the "God Emperor" dogma

Ruby was intense in this chapter, and she must never get those weapons.*Shudder*
