Mountain-God Chapter 39 Alt Pov
🕑 Added 2023-04-20 08:44:10 +0000 UTCSome days she wondered why she even woke up. Oh being the leader of half the Youkai in one of the spiritual centers of the Earth certainly had its perks... But the troubles were seeming to outweigh them at this point.
Yasaka's placid dull face was all but ice cold as she eyed Azazel and Serafall Levithan who were sitting across from her.
"So... Detecting deposits of divine materials greater in number than anything in the Underworld, your Great King faction thought it a wonderful idea to just invade our waters to mine it up without due compensation or even a by your leave?" Yasaka drawled and Serafall sheepishly laughed.
Azazel meanwhile chuckled but his eyes were less perverted than usual and not at all aiming at her less-than-normally exposed breasts as even she had a limit to how much she would allow someone to stare at her voluptuous frame. But instead, Azazel was seemingly not interested as he instead was taking in all the information he could gather.
"Heh, Yasaka has you there Sera." Azazel said carelessly but both women knew his stance was an act as he twirled his finger across the teacup that was given to him only out of courtesy. "A mountain god... It's been a while since I came across one of them." The fallen angel said with some nostalgia and Serafall snorted.
"Yeah, you mean since you utterly crashed and burned trying to flirt with Esdeath and lost a couple of fingers and a foot to frostbite," Serafall said pointedly and Azazel just shrugged with a wry smile.
"Eh, in the great chase its nothing unusual to be mauled a bit." He said and Yasaka flexed her power dipping into her connection to the leylines to make the two jokers who wanted to ease the tension focus on her as she wasn't at all amused.
"Yes... A mountain god who apparently has a strong distaste for all the supernatural and has landed here in Japan. Where another of his siblings has been sealed and has been used as a battery to keep the realm of Takemegahara and the Shinto Pantheon's major gods filled with energy even with the decline of faith." Yasaka spoke stoically before she eyed Serafall.
"What a faction leader you are. Still having zero control over your devil clan's actions within the land of the Rising Sun... In fact, I have come to an agreement with Nurarihyon and the other gods of the Shinto. We are formally dissolving your guardianship of Kuoh with all the incidents that keep cropping up." Yasaka then looked to Azazel.
"And that goes to you as well. No more loose cells. No more sacred gear hunting. No more recruitment from the five clans... The Abrahamic faction will be kicked out entirely." Yasaka said strongly and Serafall raised an eyebrow.
"And what if I refuse to hurt my Sona-Tan's feelings and send her back to the Underworld?" Serafall spoke petulantly and Yasaka snorted.
"You have Sirzechs and Ajuka as deterrents for your faction's deeds that should have caused a great deal of backlash with their antics... But the Shinto have a source of infinite power that can be tuned to release any damned energy we desire and it would be most unfortunate if the underworld was flooded with infinite holy energy." Yasaka very bluntly retorted and cold eyes that radiated freezing energy met Yasaka's eyes that still burned with her connection to the divinity of Amaterasu even if her patron goddess had lost that power. Her divinity still remained in the grasp of that mountain god Moria.
Before things could further escalate Azazel coughed and both women looked to the man who just wryly smiled. "Well, honestly I don't mind taking a step back and keeping my people out of Japan to let things cool down... But as a faction leader, you know about god right." He said leadingly and Yasaka thought for a second before rolling her eyes.
"Yes of course I know of his death, what of it?" Yasaka said impatiently as she was already done with this meeting and needed to get her daughter away from the broken form of her patron goddess as not even five minutes after meeting Amaterasu, her precious daughter had made the goddess cry and hide in a cave after saying her flames were less bright than a candle.
Such words to a sun goddess... Was just plain cruel.
"You do realize with how Heaven is falling apart, Moria is literally the best chance for Heaven to be made stable and brought back it its full potential." Azazel said drily and Yasaka could already see it.
The whole Abrahamic Heavenly Host invading Japan and trying anything they could, to bind Moria into fueling their Heaven and fixing the doom afterlife... Sure they would fail but at what cost to Japan that surrounded the returned lands of Gensokyo that were the domain of this mountain god who seemed to be rather rightfully xenophobic.
For a moment Yasaka just tapped her well-manicured nail on the short table that separated the faction leaders before she sighed. "And what are you wanting in reminding me of this future annoyance," Yasaka said dryly but then her kitsune ears pulled back as a loud crashing noise rang and her eyes twitched as her finger went through the antique wood of the table as she realized another person who invaded Moria's land was fucking blasted into her palace again.
Before the unflappable Azazel could speak, Serafall weakly raised a hand. "Uhhh shouldn't you go and check if we are being attacked or something?" She asked and the kitsune's tense tails relaxed as she rolled her eyes.
With a quick flex of her senjutsu boosted by her connection to the leylines, she could see how the new dumbass who was launched into her palace was this time not actually encased in a weird gel ball but instead was... The woman who was shot into her palace was apparently sealed in the center of a dammed Twinkie and the short cake bread and the filling that cushioned her fall had made a massive mess in her palace making Yasaka's eyes twitch at the sight of a guard just eating a fist full of the cupcake as he escorted the person to the medical bay.
"No... It's well in hand." She said dully and then she focused on Azazel.
"I am going to go pay this Moria a visit as I already heard from some friends about how he likes to make artifacts. Could be interesting to share thoughts on Sacred Gear creation." Azazel said as he hopped to his feet and then teleported from the room, Even through her palaces wards making Yasaka frown at the display before she sniffed and looked back to Serafall to finish her conversation about how the devils were going to be kicked out of Japan.
