Apocalypse Chapter 16

But for one this was an apocalypse so even the normally uptight Japanese senses of propriety of the older generation thankfully kept their opinions to themselves, though if anything they wanted to give Yuriko issues for seducing me.
Either way the next day after thoroughly claiming Yuriko as my own, she was matronly teaching Hina how to strap on thinner pieces of samurai armor that were getting put on my shins, and arms so I would still have all my mobility as my chest and neck were well protected by my leather jacket with a thick leather hood that was added to it.
While Yuriko was teaching Hina the duties of wives of old who would act as a samurai's keeper of the house and such, I was just being silent at the sight of the gaslighting happening in front of my eyes as Yuriko expertly inserted herself as a mentor figure for the pink haired girl. I also wondered if she considered Hina with her pink as a girl close enough to her daughter and that she was going so far.
"Jake here is your breakfast that Saeko brought up for you. Eat up while I will be driving you to the site where you will be working." Yuriko explained as we left my bedroom as Hina herself went back to work organizing my room and probably to get to work on choking Miku out for trying to get my attention.
There was a solid three thousand people in our group, almost all were the students and faculty we saved but some were people who we got into contact with via radio and they realized that their military otaku little prep stashes wouldn't last them more than a month and with how the world was going silent as cities lost electricity for any number of reasons that things were only getting worse.
So they made their way to our encampment and I even made an extra apartment-like building with my Minecraft abilities and sure the rooms and such, worked for people to live in... But a Minecraft bed was literally a prison mattress with how thin it was so they needed to find their own furniture to make their lives more comfortable.
After getting into Yuriko's own sports car I decided to speak up about her actions with Hina. "So... Taking Hina under your wing or something?" I asked in between bites of my rice and eggs.
Yuriko glanced at me as she expertly drove between cars before she slowly spoke. "You could say that... I don't have delusions of denying other girls seeking the safety of being under your shadow." She said wryly before shaking her head. "Jake, in the history of great men, ladies have learned the hard truth that others are attracted into following said Dreat Man, and rather than being a spiteful crone it's better for me to be an empress that manages your inevitable harem." Yuriko said bluntly before smiling.
"Now Jake finish your food as Saeko put a bunch of effort into making you the best food she could." She told me and I snorted while eating the admittedly really good food.
A few minutes later we arrived close to the mall and the throngs of nearby zombies were too thick for her sports car to weave around and she didn't want to ram into them and fuck up her car so I got out.
"See you guys in a couple of hours I guess. If I need to take a break I will be in one of the nearby buildings for safety and I have my little radio if you need to contact me beforehand." I said as Yuriko pulled a U-turn in her car and she blew me a kiss for good luck as her sports car sped off back towards the base while I sighed at the back-breaking amount of work ahead of me.
My Minecraft abilities thankfully let me automatically pick up the concrete and other materials to stash in the little pocket storage I had... But this was still a fuck load of swinging my pickaxe around to say nothing of the zombies that inevitably got attracted to the noise of my pickax smashing into the concrete and other stuff.
And I was right as forget working straight for a whole hour, I couldn't even work for five minutes in peace as the repeated clanging of my pickaxe drew every zombie that wasn't drawn by the constant droning on by the zombies by the mall. So every couple of minutes I would need to frantically clear out the zombies.
After two hours of such constant zombie clearing and mining, I was already exhausted and decided to take a break after a smaller Tall-Boy tried to smash me inside my trench.
"Jake to base is anyone there?" I said through the radio and after a crackle I got a reply.
"Yes this is Saya Takagi, what do you want over?" I heard a brusque voice come through and my face twitched as I wondered if she was going to fuck me over for you know... Fucking her mother.
"There are too many zombies attracted to the sounds of my work and it's making it impossible. Send Aura users with melee weapons to watch over my mining with a couple more armed with the silenced guns we got from the evidence lockers." I ordered and for a whole minute, there was silence then Saya's voice finally came through.
"Fine, Saeko, Takashi, Hirano, and others are on their way via a bus so expect them in like five minutes." She said and I could literally hear her click the radio shut as she cut me off. I couldn't help but nervously chuckle as it seemed that yes, she wasn't in fact all too happy about me taking her mother to my bed.

As Saya said not even five minutes passed before a bus load of teenagers and some adults got out and began helping me clear out the zombies that were inevitably drawn to the sharp clanging noises of my pickaxe going through concrete and bits of metal as I carved five meters deep lines into the ground.
"You know seeing you throw a fireball or a bolt of lightning at a target is one thing. But seeing you do this mining and see the materials just disappear is weirder than the other stuff." Takashi joked and I chuckled at that but then my laughter died as I realized that I had overlooked something very fucking simple.
I could have just done fucking Earth Jutsu and skipped all this damned work.
With a loud cracking noise I slapped myself for the stupidity and then even as my aura flashed from protecting my face from myself I made a couple of hand signs that molded my energies within myself and then with a stomp of my foot, a uniform trench was dug on the ground that was five meters deep and three wide in the matter of fucking moments.

Will he be going to other worlds eventually or just staying in that verse?

Thats possible but he isnt very good at elemental manipulation so combining water and earth is a bit out of his wheel house at this point

Speaking of Earth manipulation though. Would making quicksand/swamp work to stop most zombies? Cause there's not much range to them and if they get stuck then they're easy pickings. Only problem would be if the go World War Z on you and start towering on top each other.
