That's what I love about Heartstopper that there's no drama for drama's sake (okay, some added on the screen that wasn't in the comic), but these kids actually COMMUNICATE and do it so well.

We had the whole „I love you“-complex last season with Tara and Darcy. There is a story behind the easy I love-yous in this ep. Remember how Tara said it and Darcy didn‘t say it back? Because she felt that Tara had not seen all of her, the part of her that wasn‘t out at home for example. In the end they practiced saying it together ❤️.

I totally understand Alex's first reaction after Nick runs out the door and worrying about Nick getting hit by a car. After Charlie left Nick's after prom, I had severe anxiety worrying about him getting home safely. All I could think about was what happened to Justin after he left prom in Queer as Folk. It completely took me out of the lovey vibes because I had this sense of foreboding.

1. I don’t even know the last time I laughed that hard - that hello had me solidly crying for over a minute. 🤣🤣 2. So fun to watch you guys guess what you think will happen & quite entertaining when you guess right! 3. This episode, in the timeline, is literally 7-8 months after the beginning of season 1. That is all the time Nick & Charlie have known each other. They have been together for like 4 or 5 months maybe? So this is a LOT of big things for Nick to process in such a short time. He’s doing better than I would be!!

Thank you for always making me laugh! I'm an adolescent psychologist so I just want to comment on a couple of things. I do think Nick naming the eating disorder was the right move. A lot of time with mental illness, people walk on eggshells and avoid talking about it or labeling it, and the research shows that talking about things like sui*idal thoughts, self-harm, eating disorders, etc., actually help to destigmatize it for the person experiencing those things. The second thing I want to say is please don't ever tell a teenager they don't actually know what love is. I think if this series shows us anything, it's that teens really do feel love. Perhaps it's different than a more mature type of adult love, but honestly, teens feel it so much more intensely than the rest of us, so when they say they are in love, just believe them. Or if they are someone you are close to, explore it with them. Maybe explore the differences between infatuation and the honeymoon stage and love. Just my two cents on that.

The conversations that it inspires here and all over the internet is so incredible. Alice did such a wonderful thing for us, I hope they know just how much they've done for queer youth. Not just queer youth but for us old queer people who didn't have this growing up. It warms my heart knowing this beautiful show is out in the universe doing good things. I was watching Heartstopper with my sister and this episode she not only joked while Nick was in the ocean that a shark will come up and bite Nick's leg off, but also when Nick was running after Charlie that he might get hit by a car. Im like whats with you and wanting bad serious things to happen. Its bad enough already with what Charlie has had to go through.
