Barbara unlocked the door to her apartment and was immediately hit with the familiar scent of creamy mushroom risotto. She closed her eyes and smiled to herself. She had spent the last 17 hours at the clocktower as Oracle, providing tactical support to the other Birds of Prey on a hostage snatch and grab mission and she was exhausted. She pushed herself through the doorway, closing the door behind her.
“That had better be Alfred’s world-famous creamy mushroom risotto I’m smelling Mr. Grayson.” Said Barbara loudly as she made her way towards the kitchen. She turned the corner and saw Dick at the stove adding water to a big pot and her smile grew wider.
“Right you are Miss Gordon!” Tim replied with his best Alfred impression, eyes fixed on the stove.
“That’s mighty brave of you, considering what happened last time” She said as pushed herself closer to him.
“Cooking rice is more of an art than an exact science, you kinda have to vibe it” he said as he turned to Barbara, leaned on the wheelchair’s armrests and moved his face close to hers and kissed her. She put one hand on his cheek and after a while he broke the kiss, raising his head a little but still inches from her face. Barbara looked into his big blue eyes.
“Famous last words” she said, before pulling him in for another kiss. “How come you stopped by tonight?” She asked as she stroked Dick’s hair with her fingers.
“I heard about the snatch and grab op you girls pulled on the docks! Bruce didn’t need me tonight so I thought I’d come round and cook dinner for my girlfriend on account of her saving that little boy’s life and all.”
Barbara loved how Dick said “girlfriend”. Mostly because she knew how much he loved saying it. She knew he had a crush on her from the moment they met. She was still Batgirl back then and he had just taken up the mantle of Robin at 13 years old. He would tense up and stutter whenever they were in a room together. Everyone saw through it. Years later when she was hospitalized after being shot by the Joker, Dick would stop by every day with Bruce and Alfred, telling her dad they were friends from Gotham Academy’s Chess Club. It took Dick a full 8 months to work up the courage to ask her out on a date, even with Alfred nudging him on.
“You’re such a dork.” She said after planting one last small kiss on his lips.
“Part of my charm!” He said, turning back to the stove.
“Need any help?” Asked Barbara.
“Nope, I’m good!, just gotta let it cook for a bit”
Barbara grabbed at Tim’s t-shirt, tugging it towards her "Kiss me again."
Dick stopped what he was doing and kneeled in front of Barbara, putting his hands on her thighs. She put her arms around his neck and kissed him. Dick’s hands moved around her waist as he pulled her towards him, on the edge of her seat, with both legs around him. Barbara started kissing him more deeply as she squeezed him closer, pressing her chest onto his. Almost a minute later, he appeared at the bedroom door, leaning on the doorframe.

“I wasn’t gonna say anything,” said Barbara, barely containing giggles.
“Yes, you were!” He shouted as he jumped back onto the bed, grabbing Barbara and playfully shaking her.
Laughing, Barbara exclaimed “Well it’s not my fault the rice didn’t ‘VIBE’ properly with you! Hahahahah!”
“Shut up!” Said Dick, joining in the laughter.

He kissed her before she could go on and the two lay in bed for a few minutes. Finally, Dick broke the silence; “So… Delivery mashup?”
“Hell yeah delivery mashup!” Said Barbara, realizing she was famished.
“I’ll call the pizza place and you call the Korean place!” He said.
Barbara kissed him on the cheek.

Originally I just wanted a short flashback in order to establish Tim Drake and Barbara’s relationship before I threw him into the plot of another fic I'm writing at the moment; "Oracle's Ordeal" but with another character instead of Tim Drake for people who might not enjoy the more hardcore BDSM damsel/heroine peril stuff I usually do!
I had so much fun writing this, I think I might do more cute romantic one-offs like this in the future!
