Dormitory Egg Hunt: Aftermath

The lights outside grew dim, and the primary source of illumination quickly became a streetlight outside, flickering on and off with remarkable familiarity - a quirk it had acquired years ago from an ambitious student with a fresh driver's license and his new Toyota AE86, with the dormitory's denizens simply being forced to adapt since the university did not see fit to repair it. Petitions to at least turn it off had fallen on deaf ears, and Elizabeth thus barely paid it any heed, its dying convultions reduced to background radiation. It wasn't until the flicker would flash across her room, illuminating the orderly queue forming in her doorway, and several times in a row on that, that she realized it wasn't the work of the dorm's nemesis, but rather flashlights wielded by students still in the process of hunting eggs.
The queue was forming for that very reason, curious eyes peering in through the blinds as student after student would have his satisfaction, perhaps even twice, before leaving. Some certainly lingered, which often meant a third or even a fourth instance of their jewels being emptied, but few maintained interest after that.
Conversely, some did eventually return as well.
After all, there were still eggs to hunt.

Aftermath for the recent Elizabeth piece! Tried to go for a scene with starker lighting, deeper shadows etc, as to accentuate the late night and shenanigans afoot. Hope you enjoy it :)
