I debated a few ways to handle this transition. It ranged from forgetting he was a boy to showing him taking the hat on and off, to immediately falling asleep and lying to his mom that he practiced. I decided to skim past the practice and fall asleep with the hat on, which triggered the chibis to return.

Nope, each witch has a different way of handling their different personalities. Currently, the mother doesn't need it, because she's so used to changing lives.
