It's more of a joke. The spell is to make him more feminine, but as a guy. (I know femboy is a completely different concept.)

Seriously, Kai has terrible memory. His mom literally told him he shouldn’t cast spells Willy Nilly without fully comprehending the impact they have on him, those around him, and all of reality.
