thats the first time we hear about Asunas family, that she never felt like she belonged there, that she was unhappy. by now you know why since youre done with season 2. She was always preassured to become the best in school and make career, to the point that the first thing she thought about when elarning that she was stuck in the death game wasnt about being scare to die, she was afraid that shed miss her math exams. Thats one reason why kirito means so much to her, because living together with him was the first time in her life that was truly happy. i believe she mentions that in season 3 episode 6 or 7 that the time she spent in sao together with kirito was the best time in her life
