The Ultear scene always makes me teary eyed. She had such a depressing childhood, and when she finally has friends and a purpose and is trying to be better she sacrifices herself. Then additionally, she thinks her sacrifice was for nothing.

She thought she hadn't saved a soul, but Ultear saved the whole damn world. Her character arc is my favorite. Side note - I watched the opening just now, and you should be in the clear if you want to jam out to it next time you watch an episode, all major spoilers have been revealed. Seriously, there are SO MANY SPOILERS for this arc in the open, it's crazy!
