Fairy Tail ZERO YES! It's so good, I know you will love it. Some people skip it because it 'isn't part of the main story', but is literally the reason for the story. It adds so much to the story building, and sets up the final arc's final surprises. Yes, you will start to see a color shift into the next arc, because...well...it's a pretty goddamn dark arc.

You are right about the colors. I believe both this arc and the next one has color desaturation. Not sure if this one, always just noticed it on the next big one (not this small build-up one)
