you're right about the hair, kinda like how stress causes gray hairs. kaneki and his hair issues are based on some old story of someone getting executed, their hair allegedly turned white within minutes. cant remember who it is but the author used that as inspiration for the torture scene with jason and any changes later on. never understood why sassakis hair was kinda wavy/curly tho :/
