I think you missed it but I swear to God the key to understanding Grimmjow's character is his shadowboxing at 10:48 haha, great little moment.

Btw they don't fully go into it in the anime but each squad emblem is a flower which symbolises how their squad acts and the people within it. An example would be squad 3 for Gin and Kira which is the marigold, it means despair. Or even squad 11 for kenpachi which is the yarrow and just means fight.

Honestly with how green ichigo is, considering his first really crazy fights started with Renji and all the way into the soul Society, with Gin, Renji rematch, Kenpachi, Byakuya & Mother Fucking Sosuke ‘all according to plan’ Aizen (disregarding the bount arc) & how utterly outclassed he was with Yammy and Grimmjow, the fact that he’s still somehow, somewhat standing and alive is nothing short of impressive. Yet it only gets heavier from here on
