If you watch Sarah Pavin's Haikyuu reactions, she says that most teams are going for bigger libero players on both the men's and woman's teams for more versatility now.

Smaller is faster...especially in volleyball. You’re more aerodynamic when you’re smaller. Which is why racecars are so low to the ground. Plus being lower to the ground let’s you get lower faster than a taller person...
