If you think Asta is nothing without the devils powers, he'll prove you wrong in episode 170. He's got skills that he wouldn't have learned with just the devils powers. Also, the real underdog story is Tokyo revengers where the main character is literally so weak but still strives to work better. That's an underdog story. My hero academia is not an underdog story since deku gets all mights quirk, and Naruto isn't too since he was given kuramas power. Naruto and deku was the underdog for the first part of the series.
