Fanzel is not mars's father, he said "that boy's name is mars" not my boy like you thought, also mars is fanzel's top student who fanzel mentioned to asta, the one he said uses a sword but not as a sword, he was referring how mars created a gigantic sword with his magic during his fight against asta and yuno.
