it looks like they've forgotten the training Asta's gone through to improve his physical capabilities. He does physical training to access the demon power. The power is there, all he has to do is improve how much time he can access it.

My best summery of Black clover is, yes there are many bad animation moments and bad filler episodes. But the 20 or so episodes that are so far above and beyond make the entire thing worth watching. Best part is the MAJORITY of the most incredible episodes are still to come. There's a few scenes that i consider top tier in all of anime.

one thing a lot of people get wrong (including myself for a while) was that Licht's magic is "Sword Magic" no light at all. Only his wife's brother had "Light Magic" and they both had a four leaf for their Grimoires. Also the sword that went into Asta's book is a third sword that was in the ground in front of Licht before they even arrived. So now Asta has 3 swords in his Grimoire.

Don't worry, the power scaling will make sense. imho Black Clover has a pretty solid and sensible power system compared to most anime.

Don't forget all the training we've seen with Noelle... and their joint training with Mereoleona at that volcanic magical region. A lot of Asta's training involves training his body to keep up with his demon power, so he can use more of it for more time as well. To be honest, Asta showed similar power in his fight with Ladros the first time we saw his demon form, flying through the air. He's just able to control it more now with experience, it's not that far fetched. The only limit he surpassed here was bringing the form back out again after losing it.

"Why is Licht so powerful" This is the power of a King/Queen of one's nation or race. Licht is the Elves King so ofcourse he's extremely powerful. Imagine Julius Wizard King vs Licht ELF King. The best fight will never have cause of patry. You'll see Kings/Queen of other nations in the future. Black Clover world is massive. Julius is only the most powerful in the Clover Kingdom👀
