So the nozel situation was he didn’t want to lose noelle like his mom so he treated her like crap and told nobra and solid that it was noelle’s fault their mother died to get them to do the same in order to keep noelle from realizing her true potential to keep her off the battlefield. That also why he sent her to the black bulls because like nobra mentioned they did low class missions out in the boonies so he thought it was the best way to keep her safe

Nice commentary guys. FYI in an interview Tabata (the manga creator) stated that Noelle's latent magic/potential was equivalent to Julius ( Wizard King) and Acier Silva (her mother) to answer your question about rather if she could keep up with Asta and Yuno in the future.
