George RR Martin is still working on thebooks. He's mad late, it's been 11 years since the last one and he still has the one he's currently working on as well as 1 more until he finishes the story but it's not like he completely abandoned them. Many of the fanbase are angry with him for Taking so long tho especially because of his age abd health and are worried he won't finish them before he dies.
