You mentioned the world building being one of the strong points of this anime which is definatly true. If you remember in HxH they hyped up the Dark continent a lot as an incredibly crazy unique place not ruled by man but by strange nature. This anime reminds me of what the Dark continent might be like. I could totally see this cave existing in the world of HxH on the DC.
