also im pretty sure that purple hair demon is canon in the manga so kinda confused why they introduced her in a filler movie

This movie is anime canon. This is first time I've ever seen an anime do back 2 back fake out deaths 😂 . I didn't know how to feel about it when I first saw it in theatres. Like you guys said it just a fun movie with and nothing too deep. I enjoyed it though.
