Chapter 442: The Truth Behind It
🕑 Added 2025-09-27 08:42:19 +0000 UTC"Now that everyone's here, I'll get straight to the point."
After scanning the surroundings, Blake suddenly spoke, drawing everyone's attention to him.
Mandala involuntarily clenched his fists, the ominous premonition in his heart growing stronger.
"Regarding this Black Death Demon Lord's attack, 'Salamandra,' oh, no, I should say Mandala, shouldn't you reveal something?" Blake said to Mandala with a meaningful tone.
This caused everyone except Izayoi Sakamaki to be stunned, not understanding what he meant.
"I don't know what you mean," Mandala said, clenching his fists and gritting his teeth.
"Still want to hide the truth? That's no fun. The one who attacked was the Black Death Demon Lord, and during my strolls these past few days, I noticed there were far too many stained glass windows depicting rats, storms, and the Black Death, at least over a hundred, as if they were prepared in advance. What a coincidence." Hearing this, Blake's lips curled up, a hint of mockery in his tone.
This made Mandala's expression freeze. The others present also narrowed their eyes, instantly connecting the dots.
"Mandala... Brother...?!" Sandra covered her small mouth, her eyes filled with disbelief.
"Mandala, did you really do something like this?!"
Shiroyasha's expression also darkened.
"New Demon Lord VS new Floor Master? To call it a
coincidence is too far-fetched! Considering the need for Sandra to gain experience, there couldn't have been a more suitable opponent. Now Sandra has been successfully recognized as one of the Northern Floor Masters who can stand alone! With this, the future of ?
SALAMANDRA? is secure, right?!" Blake continued to speak to himself, making Mandala's face grow paler.
"Hmph! It's fortunate that it was your ?SALAMANDRA? people who died this time! If anything had happened to my companions, I would have destroyed not only you but even Sandra!" As he spoke the last words, Blake's gaze suddenly sharpened, and his aura surged like raging waves, impacting Mandala. It even made the room tremble, making people think an earthquake had occurred.
"It has nothing to do with Sandra!" Facing Blake's aura, Mandala's mind first went blank, but then he regained his senses and, forcefully resisting Blake's pressure, stood in front of Sandra, his face purple as he roared. "Every member of ?SALAMANDRA? knew about this except for Sandra! Our comrades lost their lives knowing everything! In this game, only our comrades died, to protect the innocent civilians we inadvertently involved!"
Looking at Blake with a distorted expression, Mandala said with a determined look, "How would someone from outside Little Garden understand...! The meaning of protecting the community's flag! Name! Honor! Betrayed by a powerful successor, and with the leader bedridden...!
To support the declining community, we had to risk our lives!"
Trembling, Mandala drew the curved knife from his waist. After speaking emotionally, he handed the knife to Blake as if resigned to his fate. "Do whatever you want, but I hope you can forgive this incident with my life."
"That kind of thing doesn't matter at all. Deep down, I don't care what happens. Since the people who died knew what was going on, that's not something we can interfere with. If we disregard the damage to the town, we actually benefited the most."
Izayoi Sakamaki waved his hand dismissively, looking bored. He didn't let Mandala continue talking about the current state of their community.
"...Sorry." Mandala lowered his head apologetically, a look of relief on his face.
"Mandala, as a Floor Master, you actually summoned a Demon Lord! That's far too rebellious! Not even for Sandra's sake!" Shiroyasha said with a stern face.
"This... that..." Sandra looked lost and didn't know what to do.
"In the future, if there's anything ?SALAMANDRA? can do to help ?noname?, we will definitely rush to your aid with all our strength. This is our apology from ?
SALAMANDRA?. At the same time, whenever a Demon Lord appears, ?SALAMANDRA? will surely go to the front lines! This is our atonement!"
Mandala took a deep breath and bowed to Shiroyasha.
"Forget it. Things have come to this. For Sandra's sake, who knew nothing, I'll forgive ?SALAMANDRA?. But remember what you said." Hearing this, Blake suddenly spoke while everyone else was silent, waving his hand.
"Agreed." After these words fell, Black Rabbit, Leticia, Shirayuki-hime, Asuka Kudou, and Yo Kasukabe thought rationally for a moment and then nodded.
"Since you kids are saying so, I won't fuss about it either.
Floor Masters are born to protect. Remember that well," Shiroyasha also huffed.
Afterward, with sincere apologies from Mandala and Sandra, this storm finally subsided.
The festival continued as usual, and some things quietly returned to normal.
