Chapter 402: Resolved
🕑 Added 2025-10-06 05:40:23 +0000 UTCHonestly, Noah found it utterly absurd that Odin treated him like a cleanup master. "Isn't your wife also an eighth-tier mage? Why don't you let her personally descend and guide this junior?" Of course, this was just Noah grumbling inwardly; if he actually said it out loud, Noah himself probably wouldn't dare.
He turned to look at Thor and Loki, who were still fighting. It had to be said that these two had now reached a terrifying level of strength. The densely packed energy bullets falling like rain caused them little harm; even if they were hit, it wasn't a big problem. It wasn't that the bullets were weak, but rather that the number of Dark Elves was more than expected, and Thor and Loki weren't fools who would stand there and take hits.
Therefore, when Thor charged into the crowd, these Dark Elves could only reluctantly engage in melee. Firing wildly in a crowded area would kill their own people.
Loki, on the other hand, was even more cunning. Already skilled in illusion magic, he hid his true body and sent illusionary clones into the crowd. After drawing a lot of aggro, his true body would then secretly use powerful frost magic. Back and forth, these Dark Elves were reaching their breaking point.
Even when they clustered together and charged at Thor, that big target, the group of Asgardian warriors guarding Thor, who had nothing else to do, would suddenly surge forward to block their sneak attack. When they were scattered by a recovering Thor, those soldiers would go back to being idle.
The result was that the Dark Elves became more and more frustrated and depressed. They even wondered if this large group of them would be soloed by these two boys.
Malekith saw things more clearly. Especially after Odin left, he suddenly realized: were his Dark Elves being used as sparring partners by that bastard Odin? The more Malekith thought about it, the more he felt it was possible. This made Malekith click his tongue and lament, "Since when did Asgard become so strong?" while also pondering what to do next.
As the battle continued, Malekith suddenly realized that he was simply no match for Asgard! This result made Malekith very uncomfortable; he even felt as if he had been played with before!
Malekith now had the urge to quickly leave this cursed place, because he found Asgard to be excessively dangerous. And now was indeed a good opportunity. Odin, whom he had always considered his opponent, had left. All that remained were about a dozen guards, Odin's two sons, and a guy standing far away watching the show, who had no idea what he was doing.
"It seems better to leave first. There will be plenty of opportunities to get revenge on Asgard later!"
Malekith secretly made up his mind. However, the moment he turned around, he suddenly felt as if he was being targeted by something terrifying! The next moment, both Malekith and the struggling Dark Elves noticed that 'glass shards' were appearing in the space around them!
"This is Kamar-Taj? Damn it!"
Malekith was no ignorant fool. Although he had some
mental issues, that didn't mean he couldn't recognize the problem they were now facing! He turned his head and looked at the person wearing a black trench coat who had originally been watching the show. Now he understood; this guy was a Kamar-Taj mage!
"Are you human mages also planning to participate in this war?" Malekith stared intently at Noah. "Don't you worry that we'll cause trouble for your Earth later?"
"If you're going to speak carelessly, at least think before you speak," Noah almost rolled his eyes. "Do you think you can win if I do nothing?"
"So you plan to 'show off' and then collect some compensation after the war ends," Malekith said with a dangerous expression. Since the situation had turned out this way, Malekith didn't mind disgusting these damned guys. Perhaps this Earth mage would back down due to embarrassment or being exposed, and ultimately do nothing.
However, unfortunately, Malekith had no idea about the true relationship between Noah's Kamar-Taj and Asgard. Moreover, no one would probably care what he said.
Noah and Loki already had a deal, Thor simply couldn't be bothered with his enemies, and Noah indeed had a deal with Odin.
Too lazy to waste another word with the Dark Elf leader, Noah's magic immediately activated. In a blink of an eye, Thor, Loki, and the Asgardian warriors were all moved away by Noah. In the space that looked no different from before, only the Dark Elves remained.
"What's going on?" Thor, who had just been transported by Noah, immediately asked.
"His Majesty Odin asked me to come here to clean up these cannon fodder. I'm just doing what needs to be done," Noah replied casually, then instantly vanished from where he stood.
As a pale golden glow shone, Noah appeared in the mirror dimension, and at the same time, Noah's magic unfolded! Noah had no intention of communicating with Malekith.
Regardless of his ambition or ability, it was all irrelevant. The most crucial point was that Noah had a fundamental, massive difference from this guy.
Due to a certain difference in life forms, Noah and the Dark Elves had almost opposite requirements for their living environment, which meant there was no possibility of coexistence. Therefore, they were mortal enemies where only one could survive. This wasn't about good versus evil; it was purely a matter of survival and stance. So, why waste words?
No matter how they talked, it would ultimately lead to either one side killing the other or being killed by the other. Since he had already made a move, he wouldn't hold back.
Upon entering the mirror dimension, Noah's magic surged instantly. Scorching flames quickly spread throughout the mirror dimension. Under powerful magical control, the flames swiftly converged into a fire phoenix!
For Noah, using elemental magic now was completely intuitive. Especially now that he was constantly comprehending domains, his understanding and mastery of the four elemental magics grew stronger and stronger.
"What a pity, I can't use my domain. Otherwise, whether it's vaporization or freezing, weathering or burial, it would be a matter of seconds," Noah thought to himself, looking at the overwhelming fire dragon that seemed to have come to life. If he could use the power of his domain, the power of this fire dragon would probably become even more terrifying. Unfortunately, Noah now needed to maintain the magic required for the mirror dimension, so he simply couldn't use his domain.
But Noah didn't care now. The opponent didn't seem very strong, so Noah didn't necessarily need to activate his domain. While a domain indeed had extraordinary effects against small fry, its real purpose wasn't for 'fishing' but for having stronger self-preservation abilities when facing powerful opponents.
"Thinking about it, I've categorized my past self as cannon fodder now," Noah chuckled self-deprecatingly.
Then, with another burst of terrifying magic, the huge fire dragon instantly pounced on them, under Malekith's horrified gaze! The fierce explosion and the instant intense heat created a terrifying impact, all of which slammed into the Dark Elves!
"No..."
Malekith's scream didn't even have time to finish before he was directly engulfed by the scorching flames! Noah floated in mid-air. The terrifying impact barely leaked out a little, yet it blasted a huge crater in the ground where Noah had originally been. Fortunately, Noah had opened the mirror dimension early, otherwise, who knew what that part of Asgard would have looked like! An eighth-tier power, even if not fully unleashed, could still cause incredibly exaggerated destruction with a practiced spell.
Looking at the destruction he had caused, Noah was quite satisfied. As for what happened next, Noah didn't plan to deal with it. Anyway, Noah didn't intend to open this mirror dimension; he'd just let them burn in there until the end of time.
"Anyway, if I open it, it'll just be a pile of bones. I'm not interested in researching Dark Elves. If I'm going to research them, I need to catch them alive, right?"
After leaving the mirror dimension, Noah noticed Thor and Loki looking at him. As for the first batch of Dark Elves who had entered the battle, they had become leaderless due to Malekith's disappearance and were now being rounded up by ordinary Asgardian warriors.
"Where is that guy? And his troops?" Thor looked at Noah for a long time before tentatively asking, "Did you lock them all up in a different dimension?"
"Locked up?" Noah tilted his head. "Sort of. But before I left, I cast a spell. Maybe when you go in to find them, you'll only find a pile of bones."
"A pile of bones? What did you do?"
"Nothing much, just set a fire."
This answer immediately bewildered Thor, but he quickly recovered. He wasn't sure how strong Noah's magic was now, but he was certain Noah wouldn't joke about something like this.
As for Loki and the Asgardian guards, their expressions remained calm. Loki had been with Noah for almost a year, so he naturally knew Noah's capabilities. Many of Odin's guards recognized Noah, and some of them had even fought him, so they naturally knew the level of this young Earth mage.
"By the way, Loki," just as they were about to go and clean up the remaining Dark Elves, Noah suddenly said,
"Do you remember our agreement?"
"Of course I do. What about it?" Loki looked at Noah, puzzled. Wasn't this just agreed upon yesterday afternoon?
"I think I've taken care of some necessary prerequisites for you. Your father won't say much about you anymore."
"Is that so... Wait? You handled him? How? When?"
"You can go discuss it with your father now. As for the
timing, it was just now."
"..."
