Chapter 403: Leaving the Gem in Asgard
🕑 Added 2025-10-06 05:45:05 +0000 UTCNoah's speed in resolving the issue truly startled Loki. He never expected Noah to have already negotiated with Odin while they were still fighting.
Such efficiency was truly admirable. Loki was even speculating whether Noah had an unusually close relationship with his father. Otherwise, how could he have settled things so easily in his situation?
However, Loki only dared to think this. If he actually dared to ask, who knew how unlucky he would be?
And he also guessed some other things. After spending a
year on Earth, he clearly understood Noah's standing in the Earth's magic community. If there were no surprises, Noah might eventually ascend to the legendary position of Sorcerer Supreme. And that position corresponded to the throne in Asgard!
The current Sorcerer Supreme and his father were on the same level, and Noah was one of the Sorcerer Supreme's most outstanding disciples.
"So, since Father and the Sorcerer Supreme have such a good relationship, he must also hope that we have a similar relationship with the future Sorcerer Supreme, right?"
It must be said that Loki was indeed quick-witted. Just through a series of small incidents, he had almost figured it out.
He quietly glanced at Thor. This guy was thrown to Earth a few years ago, and it just so happened that the person who solved the problem was the one in front of him. And when he caused trouble on Earth later, it was also this person who stepped in to resolve the issues.
It could be said that whether these things were coincidences or not, there were definitely intentions from both powerful figures to have their juniors maintain a good relationship.
"What a lucky guy, at least there's no one competing with you." Loki secretly sighed. Although there weren't many competitors for the throne of Asgard, Loki was undeniably in a disadvantaged position.
After Noah's analysis, Loki also understood his own situation, and he knew his chances were truly slim. This was Asgard's characteristic, and Loki himself couldn't do anything about it.
However, Loki wasn't planning to give up so easily. As long as Odin hadn't made an announcement, he still had a chance, right? At worst, after the announcement, he would be like his mother, standing behind the King of Asgard no, a man!
"What are you two talking about?" Just as Loki was lost in thought, Thor suddenly leaned closer to him and whispered.
"None of your business." Loki was startled by Thor and immediately said coldly.
"Come on, tell me. Anyway, the matter is settled now."
"Instead of talking about this, why don't you go check on your little girlfriend? I remember her situation hasn't been resolved yet. Or do you just not care about her at all?"
Thor was immediately silenced by Loki's barrage of words, then without another word, he immediately ran towards the palace. Loki was right; Jane's situation was still very grim. If it weren't for these damned Dark Elves inexplicably causing trouble, Jane's problem would probably have been solved by now, right?
After watching Thor run off, Loki shrugged indifferently and then looked at Noah: "Now what? What should we do?"
"Of course, go take a look." Noah answered directly. To be honest, he was also quite interested in the Reality Stone.
The Reality Stone's ability truly made Noah feel interesting, and at the same time, very terrifying!
Because it could truly, unequivocally, turn things that seemed impossible and unreal into reality. And it could be said that this thing was simply a scientist's killer; all scientific principles and natural laws were meaningless in its presence, because it could modify them at will. The Reality Stone could not only create illusions indistinguishable from reality, but as long as the user wished, it could completely become reality.
Of course, Noah thought that the Reality Stone couldn't be overdrawn and used at will. With the preconditions for using the Time Stone and Space Stone, Noah knew that the use of these gems also had certain requirements for the user.
If the user's power was insufficient and couldn't provide power to the gem, then the gem might not even activate.
Even if the user was strong, but if they faced too powerful an opponent, the gem might drain the user dry in one go. The use of the gems must be cautious; this was information Noah learned from the movies.
Noah remembered one scene very clearly: in Avengers: Endgame, Tony snatched the gems and snapped his fingers. Noah didn't know what level of armor that was at the time. But Noah knew that with that snap, Tony not only lost his life, but even the arc reactor in his chest struggled for a moment and went out.
Although it looked very poetic, in reality, Tony's arc reactor had long been something that could be freely removed, otherwise he wouldn't have given one to Banner. It could be said that the energy stored in that arc reactor was also completely drained by that snap.
Otherwise, under normal circumstances, Tony would still be lit even if he died. Well, it's also possible that it went out but Tony was still alive; anyway, the arc reactor and Tony died together.
Therefore, although Noah was interested in the Reality Stone, he dared not use it to help himself build some domain. Not to mention that achieving this step would require continuous output of magic power; Thanos had already set a good example. Secondly, this thing was probably forcibly modifying the rules to merge them, which was not a perfect fusion at all, and this didn't conform to Noah's ideas. Therefore, Noah's biggest idea was to see Odin extract it, and incidentally get some of its power to complete the task and study it.
"Speaking of research, I'm actually a little embarrassed. I haven't even properly studied the power of the Mind Stone yet. And the power of that damned Mind Stone isn't pure enough, and the quantity is too small, it hasn't even met the task requirements." Noah muttered to himself, then followed Loki towards the palace. Odin's guards didn't follow; they still had to deal with the remaining Dark Elves. After slacking off for so long, it was time for them to do what they should.
Noah and Loki were fast, but when they leisurely walked into the palace, they were surprised to find Jane lying in Thor's arms, whispering something. And Odin, standing on the throne in the center of the palace, was looking at the gem floating in front of him.
"It's already done?"
"Apparently, yes."
"But why so fast?"
"Because it wasn't difficult. Frigga helped me stabilize this girl's life, and all I had to do was control the power to extract this gem."
Looking at Odin's calm demeanor, Noah suddenly didn't know what to say. Just like that? Just like that? You've got to be kidding! Noah really wanted to tell Odin: "This isn't simple at all, okay? Can you please not mislead people?"
However, Noah didn't dare to say such words. Besides, Noah was now attracted by the Reality Stone floating in mid-air. This Reality Stone emitted a faint red glow, and a strange power seemed to drift around it. This power made everything around it appear somewhat distorted, as if everything had been changed, no matter how you looked at it, it seemed so unreal and incredible. But in fact, all of this was real; no matter how strange things were, with the Reality Stone present, there was nothing it couldn't change!
"It's truly terrifying." Feeling the power emanating from the gem from a distance, Noah couldn't help but sigh.
"Indeed, it's terrifying." Odin nodded. "Now I'm thinking
about how to deal with this gem."
Deal with it? Noah looked at Odin strangely. Could it be that His Majesty still planned to hand it over to that Collector in Knowhere? That wasn't a good idea; Noah didn't intend for that to happen.
"Your Majesty Odin, don't you plan to keep it in Asgard?"
"Of course, keeping it in Asgard is too dangerous. And in Asgard, I'm not sure if anyone can seal it in the future.
Do you, perhaps, want the Reality Stone?"
"I do want it, but I already have two gems, and I'm worried about attracting trouble." Noah didn't hide his thoughts, but Noah also knew the saying about biting off more than you can chew. However, Noah's idea was to leave this thing in Asgard, and when Thor takes over the throne in the future, Noah might still be able to find a way to get it back.
"To be honest, Your Majesty Odin, I guess you probably intend to hand it over to the Collector in Knowhere, right?"
"Oh? You know this gentleman?" Odin looked at Noah strangely. Although he was curious how Noah knew this old man, Odin still nodded: "Yes, I feel it would be very safe to give the Reality Stone to him."
"Is that so?" Noah shook his head. "Since Your Majesty knows the Collector's location, do you think others who have ideas about the gems wouldn't know? Or wouldn't be able to guess?"
"Did you read something again?" Odin's gaze became
extremely strange. "This is not a good thing, child."
"I did not use the power of the Time Stone; this is my own guess." Noah decisively denied Odin's words: "Excessive use of the Time Stone will also bring some trouble, I understand."
As someone who knew the future, Noah knew what would
happen in the future even without using the Time Stone.
He feared that after Odin's "passing," Thanos would still find the so-called Knowhere and snatch the gem entrusted to the Collector. Keeping the Reality Stone in Asgard was the most correct choice. Anyway, the Space Stone was no longer in Asgard, so why make it so complicated?
