Chapter 408: Are You Married?
🕑 Added 2025-10-09 03:12:14 +0000 UTCTo be honest, Noah was also quite depressed looking at his "wand" being an "unidentified blob," but after hearing Eitri's explanation, he felt somewhat relieved. Indeed, these dwarves clearly didn't know what Noah planned to turn this "wand" into. If they had imagined a shape and molded it themselves, they probably would have felt a bit embarrassed if the aesthetic wasn't up to par. The weapons crafted by dwarves not only had to be powerful and highly valuable, but also had to align with the user's aesthetic values.
If the user themselves disliked their weapon, then that would be a very unsuccessful endeavor for them. So the dwarves didn't bother with such effort; Thor's weapon had a design from the beginning, so they didn't need to worry so much. For a mage's weapon, especially one that still needed "processing," the dwarves wouldn't do such thankless tasks.
Taking the silvery substance, Noah's spiritual power immediately permeated it. Sure enough, this silvery substance was like a lifeless object, without any other energy fluctuations, completely incomparable to Thor's weapon. However, Noah didn't mind; the dwarves' design was incredibly ingenious. This silvery blob had an abnormally high mass and density. Although it was currently condensed into a blob, Noah felt that if he extended it with magic, it might even turn into something like "Gandalf's Staff." Most importantly, Noah truly found two indentations at the center of this blob.
These two indentations were covered with dense, strange runes. Noah had no idea what their specific purpose was, but he could guess they were used to enhance and connect the core of the entire substance!
"Clever design. Is this to unleash the power of the gems?"
Noah secretly speculated. It must be said that this race, which had created the Infinity Gauntlet, probably referenced and borrowed some of the Infinity Gauntlet's designs for his "wand." Unfortunately, there were only two indentations, unlike the Infinity Gauntlet, which could house all the gems.
"But for me, it's enough." Overall, Noah was quite satisfied, because Noah never intended to claim all six gems for himself. Not to mention, Noah's strength wouldn't allow him to do so. Besides, even if he gained strength later, Noah might not value these gems much.
Two useful gems were enough for Noah; he would scatter the other gems after collecting them except for Thanos.
This would not only be safer but also bring more enemies to Thanos.
Thinking this, Noah's movements were not slow. With a wave of his hand, ripples appeared in the space around Noah. The next moment, two glowing gems, one blue and one green, appeared in everyone's sight. Eitri was even more surprised.
"Are these the Infinity Stones?"
"Yes, the Space Stone and the Time Stone. They are also the core of my new wand."
"Truly incredible, Mr. Finniel. But I must remind you, you need to be careful. Many people probably have designs on the gems."
"Thank you, King Eitri. I already knew this after obtaining the gems." How could Noah not know this? But what could he do? Noah had to fight for a "50% chance" and a "1 in 30 million chance." Honestly, only one success out of 30 million parallel universes who knew what kind of terrible odds that was?
The success in the movie was hard to say if it was just an anomaly. As for the comics, Noah couldn't afford that many reboots! As a non-"native" resident, who knew if he would still be him after a reboot, perhaps directly becoming the true "Noah Finniel."
Shaking his head, Noah took the two gems in his hand, then slowly "inserted" them into the indentations of the "silvery substance." The moment the two gems touched the silvery substance, the silvery substance seemed to come alive.
Waves of terrifying fluctuations erupted from this substance, as if a mysterious force was fusing the gems and the silvery substance together! These terrifying forces grew stronger and stronger, forcing the surrounding dwarves to retreat. Only Noah, Thor, and Loki remained unaffected; even Eitri was finding it a bit hard to bear.
"Everyone else, quickly retreat, stay away from this weapon! Mr. Finniel, quickly prove you are worthy to hold it!" Faced with this situation, Eitri had to urge Noah to act faster. The dwarves had seen similar situations countless times throughout their lives, having forged innumerable strange equipment and divine artifacts. So, there was no panic. All the dwarves retreated to a sufficient distance, then quietly watched what Noah was
going to do.
And Noah didn't disappoint the curious dwarves. Noah was originally proficient in space magic, and his body had also been altered by the Space Stone. So, he had an unusual affinity for the Space Stone. As for the Time Stone?
Well, although Noah's control over the Time Stone was really poor, he himself felt that he might not be as good as that kid, Strange. But the problem was, Noah had read the instructions, so even without such high talent, basic control was not an issue.
Noah held the silvery substance. As the majestic magic power within him erupted, the silvery substance also seemed to resonate with Noah. Although the dominant light was azure, as time passed, the azure light and emerald light gradually began to intertwine. In this intertwining, Noah clearly felt that the mysterious runes around the two indentations also began to exert incredible power.
The runes emitted a faint silver glow, and these thread-like streaks of light quickly activated the entire silvery substance! When the power released by the silvery substance synchronized with the two gems, Noah suddenly felt the resonance between himself and the silvery substance becoming clearer and clearer!
Suddenly, when Noah's resonance with the silvery substance reached synchronization, Noah instantly felt two completely different forces contained within the silvery substance. And this silvery substance seemed to have found its owner, attaching itself to Noah's finger with two incredible forces. Slowly, this silvery substance transformed into a ring and settled on Noah's ring finger.
In an instant, Noah suddenly had a very peculiar feeling.
He felt that "no matter how far the weapon was from him, he could feel it, as if it were a part of his own body." And Noah also had a feeling that the magic power in his body seemed to become more powerful and easier to manipulate. Not only that, even his own body seemed to become incredibly active because of this ring. Noah even felt that he didn't even need to do anything; just wearing this ring, his physical enhancement would continuously reach its peak! This discovery surprised Noah; he wasn't sure if it was his illusion or the truth.
The improvement in physical fitness brought many benefits to Noah. Not to mention anything else, the storage of spiritual power and magic power alone was a huge change. Noah naturally hoped that everything would proceed smoothly.
"And because of this body, my strength will also be limited, so the improvement of physical fitness is especially important." Noah would not forget those miserable years, it was because his physical fitness simply could not keep up with the growth of his magic power, causing Noah to be stuck at the sixth tier for a long time. Now Noah's physical fitness is only at the fifth or sixth tier, Noah feels that if his physical fitness does not improve, he will probably be stuck again.
"Don't worry, this weapon really suits you, and with the presence of the Space Stone, it has been slowly improving your physical fitness." Perhaps knowing what Noah was worried about, the system's mechanical voice sounded in Noah's mind. This news made Noah even happier. If this was the case, Noah probably didn't need to worry so much.
Looking at the ring on his hand, Noah slowly withdrew his magic power, and his ring immediately calmed down. The terrifying anomaly caused by Noah activating this new weapon also slowly disappeared at this moment; everything seemed to return to calm.
"Did it succeed?" Thor asked first. He was standing next to Noah, so he observed quite carefully.
"It succeeded, very smoothly." Noah smiled and nodded, then raised his right hand: "See, it's quite pretty, isn't it?"
Noah transformed his weapon into the shape of a ring, and because of the material of the ring, its plasticity was very high. Therefore, Noah didn't make the ring look plain; he didn't know if Noah did it on purpose, but the current ring was completely black, and some strange runes appeared on it.
These runes were the ones inside the ring, and Noah could completely control whether they appeared or were hidden. With these runes as carving, the entire ring looked much more sophisticated. As for the color of the ring, this was completely controlled by Noah himself; he could make it black if he wanted, or white if he wanted.
"It looks pretty good, doesn't it?" Loki also leaned over to take a look, saying with undisguised envy in his tone, "It's very powerful, and the power it caused just now was quite terrifying. Congratulations."
"Thank you, it is indeed very powerful." Noah nodded. He was also happy looking at the ring on his ring finger, but for some reason, Noah felt that the position where his ring was worn seemed a bit strange.
"By the way, are you married?" Thor suddenly asked, somewhat inexplicably.
"How could that be? We've known each other for so long, don't you know my situation?" Noah immediately shook his head.
"That's why it's strange. Why are you wearing it on your ring finger?"
"..."
"Jane told me that only married people wear it on that finger."
"..."
