Chapter 409: Noah's Spacetime Star
🕑 Added 2025-10-10 12:29:12 +0000 UTCNoah finally understood why he kept feeling something strange; it was because his ring was on the wrong finger.
Noah was a pure bachelor. Although saying 'bachelor' now would be a bit unfair to Hermione, the problem was they were just starting out. Marriage was still a Rhine River away, no need to overthink it.
With a dark expression, Noah took the ring off his ring finger and put it on his index finger. Immediately, Noah felt much more comfortable. Looking at the ring on his finger, Noah started pondering what to name it. Weapons needed names, just like Thor's hammer and axe, both had exclusive names. And names sometimes could even affect the weapon's properties. Of course, this was rare. You couldn't just change the famous 'Frostmourne', the sword of a filial son, to 'Fire of Joy' and expect it to become the 'Filial Father's Sword' that shoots fire, right?
"But what should my weapon be called? T-1000? Or the Infinity Ring? Uh, it's not necessarily a ring either." Noah stroked his chin. Being bad at naming things, he was truly stumped by this. After much thought, Noah decided to go with a simple name 'Finnir's Spacetime Star'.
Although this weapon had many special properties, its most crucial components were the two Infinity Stones within it. The Time Stone and the Power Stone formed the core of this weapon and were the source of its power.
Coupled with it being Noah's exclusive weapon, this name was perfectly fine. All in all, it was good that it didn't end up being called 'Celeron' or something similar.
"'Finnir's Spacetime Star'?" Thor looked at Noah with a strange expression. "Uh, the name's not bad. What do you think, Loki?"
"Don't ask me. Whether it's Stormbreaker or Finnir's Spacetime Star, it has nothing to do with me," Loki rolled his eyes, not bothering to answer the question. It was clear that he wasn't in a good mood, but neither Thor nor Noah cared much. Especially Noah, who was idly toying with the Spacetime Star, now transformed into a ring, on his hand.
Honestly, Noah had initially wanted the dwarves to use something like a 'stellar core' as material for the weapon.
But now, the dwarves had created something even more suitable for him than Noah had imagined, which made Noah even happier. Moreover, the name of this thing made Noah think more deeply, because its name was actually 'Mithril'! Mithril, to be honest, was overused in novels in Noah's previous life, as if a mage wasn't qualified without a few pieces of Mithril equipment.
But in reality, the first appearance of Mithril was in the prequel novel to The Lord of the Rings! This was why Noah immediately thought of that old geezer who laid the foundation for heretical mages when he heard the name of this material. For this matter, Noah specifically asked Eitri about the origin of this Mithril, but unfortunately, the Dwarf King didn't seem to remember where this Mithril came from either. Because it was too ancient, Eitri also couldn't recall.
"I vaguely remember my grandfather brought it back. Back then, the universe wasn't as heavily isolated by special forces, and dwarves could still travel around and search for materials. But I heard my grandfather say that he found it on a planet with terrifying giant dragons and constant warfare."
"..."
A planet with terrifying giant dragons and constant warfare? Noah rubbed his chin. Could this terrifying giant dragon be Ancalagon? Constant warfare? Uh, it seems the world of Middle-earth was basically in constant conflict from beginning to end, due to the existence of Morgoth creating an inevitable opposition of darkness and light. If that were truly the case, then Eitri's grandfather was too miserable, wasn't he?
Who was Ancalagon? He was the first giant dragon bred by Morgoth Bauglir during the First Age! He was the largest and most powerful of all dragons, and the first winged dragon. In the War of Wrath, Morgoth sent Ancalagon from Angband to fight against the hosts of the Valar, and even the Valar's army was defeated by Ancalagon. Legend says Ancalagon's size was enough to blot out the sun; he was the largest dragon in Middle-earth, hundreds of times the size of Smaug. If calculated, hundreds of times a 150-meter-long Smaug would be tens of thousands of meters long, wouldn't it?
And according to Gandalf's deduction, Ancalagon's flames
were hotter than other dragons', even capable of destroying the One Ring! Of course, this did not include the One Ring.
"How terrifying indeed..."
"Yes, my grandfather rarely left after he came back."
He probably didn't dare to leave, did he? Noah thought to himself. However, this time also confirmed something for Noah: that the universes were relatively easy to communicate with each other before? This couldn't help but remind Noah of his previous encounter inside the Tesseract, the Space Stone, where those large and small silver light screens were still vivid in Noah's memory.
"Why not take this opportunity to go and see?"
Suddenly, an uncontrollable idea arose in Noah's mind.
He felt that since he was out here, why not go and see those light screens? And in Noah's memory, there seemed to be a light screen very close to his current location! Of course, 'close' was relative; it wasn't measured in meters, but in light-years. However, Asgardian spaceships had space-jumping technology, so this distance was really nothing. Moreover, Noah himself was someone who could disregard distance; his current strength was completely capable of achieving this step!
"Since that's the case, why not take a look?"
With such thoughts, Noah and his two companions left after participating in a celebratory banquet at Eitri's invitation. Actually, Noah didn't want to attend such banquets at all, but since his weapon was provided for free, Noah, with his softened stance, could only go along and revel with the dwarves. Thor probably enjoyed such revelry the most.
Watching him clutching a mug as thick as his waist, then dancing and drinking with a dwarf twice his height, made Noah's head ache. Loki was similar to Noah; probably as a fellow mage, he also strongly disliked such environments. If it were a court banquet, Loki would probably be very happy to attend and could appear impeccably graceful.
Thor drank until midnight, and dwarf ale was no joke, especially when Thor didn't use his powers to resist it, he'd get as drunk as a silly dog. Fortunately, Noah and Loki were there, otherwise, he would have been left lying on the roadside.
"Is this guy always like this?" Noah asked, a little depressed, looking at Thor snoring loudly on the bed.
"Pretty much," Loki truly felt Thor was too embarrassing.
He sighed helplessly. "This guy is basically always like this. I really don't understand what's so good about getting drunk like an idiot." Noah shrugged. Honestly, he didn't know either, but Noah wasn't bothered by what these warriors thought. There was a natural gap between a warrior's mindset and a mage's mindset. For example, when it came to drinking, mages generally tasted sparingly and wouldn't let themselves get drunk, or even didn't drink at all. But warriors wouldn't care so much; they basically had no resistance to the temptation of good wine.
They generally wouldn't stop until they couldn't even remember who they were. "I really don't understand what's so good about getting that drunk. Are you troubled?"
"By the way, Loki, what's your opinion on the universe beyond the Milky Way?"
Since they had nothing to do, and Noah had been captivated by Eitri's earlier story and had some special thoughts, he naturally wanted to ask Loki, this alien. If appropriate, Noah genuinely planned to experience other universes.
"The universe beyond the Milky Way?" Loki tilted his head. "I haven't been there. The universe within the Milky Way is already so vast. Besides your solar system, there are countless other star systems. Why are you interested in this? Did you get some ideas from the dwarves' stories?"
"Yes, I did get some ideas."
"My advice is, don't think too much. Even if you have the Space Stone. The Milky Way is so vast, how much do you truly understand about it? And there are so many parallel universes and spaces created by black hole distortions in the Milky Way. Do you think you've seen them all?"
The Milky Way is indeed very large, that's absolutely correct. Let alone the Milky Way, Noah hadn't even fully explored the vast solar system. However, Noah's vision wasn't that limited. For example, the planet Sakaar was clearly not a planet in the Milky Way. At that time, Thor and Loki had no idea how many dimensions they had to cross to get to that place.
Also, Dormammu, it was clear that his Dark Dimension didn't exist within the Milky Way either. Even in a higher-dimensional Milky Way, it probably wouldn't be able to contain that guy.
Noah stroked his chin. He felt it was better not to ask too much about the outside universe for now; there were still too many internal universe issues to figure out. As for those light screens? Noah still wanted to see them.
Anyway, what else was there to do?
"By the way, you said, which galaxy is Thanos from?"
"Titan, the sixth moon of Saturn. I'm not entirely sure where exactly, but I heard it's already been destroyed."
"Then, the Kree homeworld?"
"Hala? That's their homeworld. That place is also known as the origin of the Kree Empire, one of the three great empires of the galaxy."
Noah chatted leisurely with Loki like this. In the midst of Thor's pig-like snoring, the sky gradually began to lighten.
