Chapter 416: Don't Be So Foolish
🕑 Added 2025-10-14 09:26:37 +0000 UTCWhether Noah and his two companions were human or not, Cal had already come to a conclusion in his heart, but he still couldn't help but think that way. And similarly, the one who was also deeply pondering due to Noah's words was Merrin, the Nightsister, currently the only one left on Dathomir, hidden in the darkness.
She had already arrived when the Mantis flew to Dathomir, but she hadn't revealed herself. As the last Nightsister on Dathomir, Merrin had to be careful. She needed to preserve the legacy of her Nightsisters. And she also needed to determine who these visitors were.
What made her furious was that she found the arrivals were a Jedi and three mysterious individuals whom she couldn't sense anything about. Of course, calling them mysterious was purely out of caution; calling them ordinary people was fine in Merrin's eyes.
Merrin hated the Jedi deeply, because a "wanderer" on Dathomir had told her that her Nightsisters were exterminated by the Jedi! Merrin initially didn't fully believe that guy's identity, but as that guy revealed the power of the dark side, coupled with Merrin's mind being full of thoughts of revenge, she slowly began to tentatively believe what that guy said. Now, a Jedi coming to Dathomir made Merrin furious inside while also thinking of a way to deal with him. Clearly, Merrin felt it wasn't time for revenge yet, as her abilities were still growing. Besides, Merrin had only tentatively believed that "wanderer"; if she truly believed him, she would have already chosen to act.
But what Merrin never expected was that her magic Nightsisters were Force witches who excelled at using the Force to cast magic-like effects was actually seen through directly! And the ones who saw through her were those three "ordinary people" whom she initially hadn't paid any attention to. This situation made Merrin feel incredibly unbelievable, and from their tone, she was discovered the moment she arrived!
"How is this possible?" Merrin secretly thought. She felt
she might have been deceived, but there were some things she dared not gamble on. As she pondered, she noticed that those people were actually walking towards the planet's core on Dathomir, which made Merrin frown.
She made a decision: whether the other party was deceiving her or not, she would reveal herself and "talk" properly with these people. If they listened, she would let them leave. If they didn't, she would make them taste the power of Dathomir's Nightsisters!
Noah and his two companions boringly followed Cal forward. If it weren't for being unfamiliar with the path and fearing embarrassing himself by accidentally teleporting into a wall, Noah would have directly teleported. However, even without using teleportation, Noah used plenty of other magic. For example, if he encountered a door that couldn't be opened, he would directly resort to violent demolition. If he encountered a place he couldn't climb, he would directly fly up. All in all, it was a relaxed and pleasant journey, except for the occasional little spiders that popped out to ambush Noah, and the environment of this planet was indeed a bit bad. It could be said that this was a good travel experience.
However, when they walked into a place resembling a palace, obvious power fluctuations suddenly appeared around them.
"Oh? You've decided to show yourself?" This time, even the somewhat slow-reacting Cal clearly felt it, and at that moment, Noah suddenly spoke. As his voice fell, a green glow appeared not far in front of them. The green light faded, and a woman with red clothes, gray skin, and faint red war paint on her face appeared in their sight.
At this point, Cal finally understood what Noah and the others had been talking about; there really was someone following them! And Cal guessed the identity of this mysterious woman: if there were no surprises, this woman should be a Nightsister! But weren't the Nightsisters supposed to be extinct? Cal felt a little strange, because he had heard Cere and the others talking about it on the Mantis. But Cal quickly dismissed this information from his mind. Jedi weren't the only ones atleast he had three guys around him who were already beyond the scope of Jedi!
"You have trespassed here, Jedi." Merrin frowned, looking at the four people in front of her, but she still spoke sternly.
"Actually, not exactly trespassing." Noah tilted his head: "We originally wanted to send you a message to notify you, but it seems there was no one here." Noah observed the Nightsister with some curiosity. To be honest, this woman was quite beautiful. However, Noah had no other intentions; he was observing her because with her appearance, Noah noticed that the power that seemed to be able to awaken dead life became even more intense.
"We are not dead, but we do not welcome your arrival."
Merrin waved her hand, and several Nightbrothers immediately appeared behind her: "Dathomir is not your place to come. Leave quickly!"
"What if I say no?" Noah completely disregarded these green-skinned, fierce-looking Nightbrother warriors. If he were truly worried, he would have already acted when he sensed their presence; why would he wait until now?
"Then you shall remain on Dathomir!" Merrin seemed to have no intention of wasting words with Noah. She unleashed green energy fluctuations from her hands, and then this energy, like flames, attached itself to the Nightbrother warriors. Immediately, these Nightbrother warriors let out roars, and their power became extremely violent at this moment.
"Buffing magic?" Loki stood behind Noah and whispered, "I didn't expect this world to have magic?"
"It's just a way of using the Force." Noah shook his head: "Although both the Force and magic are essentially extraordinary powers, there are still differences in certain characteristics. I can only say that they used the Force to create something similar to magic."
"Perhaps others have the authentic magic."
"Perhaps, but whoever has the bigger fist gets to call the shots. Do you think my fist is big?"
"..." Loki immediately rolled his eyes, and Thor was also left speechless by Noah's words. Probably the only one who was confused was Cal. Because when Noah and his two companions spoke, they would deliberately block out their surroundings, especially when they were talking about more private matters.
"What are you saying?" Cal was curious but not displeased. He pointed at the several seemingly enhanced Nightbrother warriors in front and said, "They're coming."
"Don't worry about it." Noah smiled. How could he not have noticed the situation? "Don't worry, these guys are easy to deal with, and that girl hasn't left, no need to worry." As he spoke, these Nightbrother warriors had already charged towards Noah and his group! Their movements were incredibly swift, their speed almost invisible, and more terrifyingly, their chosen attack angles were clearly meant to kill. But the moment they charged to within a meter of Noah and his group, they all suddenly froze in place like statues!
Their faces all showed terrified expressions, but no matter how much they struggled, they couldn't move an inch!
"See? Aren't they easy to deal with?" Noah pointed at the frozen figures and smiled slightly. Easy to deal with for you, maybe? Cal's mouth twitched. He realized that although these three didn't use lightsabers perhaps they didn't have them in their era they also had a very significant characteristic: their utilization of the Force had exceeded imagination. Cal guessed that perhaps Force users from twenty-five thousand years ago rarely relied on external forces, or perhaps they simply treated these Force powers as a tool. However, after over twenty thousand years of changes, people's understanding of the Force also continuously changed, which led to significant differences between current Force users and those from the past?
"It seems I'll have to ask them properly when I have time." Cal secretly thought. He never expected that what he thought might give Noah and his two companions a perfect explanation! Because Noah and his group were indeed too different from the power users of this parallel universe. Even if they claimed to be from ancient times, they were worried about causing trouble.
However, Noah and his group didn't know what Cal was thinking right now. If they did, Noah would definitely pat his shoulder hard and praise him.
"Who exactly are you people?" Just as Cal was lost in thought, a green glow flickered not far from Cal and his group, and Merrin's figure reappeared in everyone's sight.
Clearly, this Nightsister was also frozen by Noah's magic. She seemed to be struggling hard, but like the Nightbrother warriors, she couldn't break free from Noah's magic at all. She could only stare intently at Noah and the others.
"Us? Just passersby exploring." Noah carefully observed the Nightbrother warriors, who looked remarkably similar to "Darth Maul," then turned to Merrin: "As for you, why did you attack us?"
"You Jedi have already destroyed my home. Do you intend to wipe us out now?"
"Wipe you out? I'm sorry, this is the first time I've seen you and your race. Why do you think we would do that?"
"Isn't that right? Since you Jedi did it once, why wouldn't you do it a second time?"
"Last point: we are not here to kill you. Is it hard to kill you? Also, only one of the four of us is a Jedi, so stop being so foolish, okay?"
