If you go back and look… the well when they throw the key down, looks exactly like the tunnel in the house to the other mothers world. And in the beginning when she sends up the coraline doll, it kinda looks round (as if maybe through the well/portal), and it looks like a nighttime of stars….remember in the beginning when Wybie said it’s so deep if you look up it looks like a nighttime of stars. Crazy…

Coraline is a stop-motion film that uses puppets with replaceable parts to create facial expressions. They incorporated polymer clay into the design, but the broader technique is stop-motion. Very work- and time-intensive, but it leads to such a beautiful and unique film. James and the Giant Peach's primary animation style is also stop-motion, where the puppets are moved frame by frame, too. Another example is The Nightmare Before Christmas (you all should definitely watch this one if you haven't seen it!)

10/10 reaction a big theory for this movie is that the tunnel that they threw the key into leads directly to the other world ! So maybe the other mother has the key 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is not only one of my favorite horror films but it's one of my favorite films of all time. Coraline came out when I was 12 and at 28 the film still scares tf out of me. This is a great film about child neglection, child predators (the Other mother) and how strong a child's imagination is.
