Hard to say. Lack of research, lack of resources or just plain detachment from the community... It could be any combination of factors, really.

The logo is horrible and yes, the app... grouping things up in such a strange and horrible way is just terrible. Just show me what is knew from people not it and the last five things I already knew about. How do these platforms keep getting this so wrong every single time? Did EA buy them all and not tell anyone?

I have no idea. Usually the explanation is just that companies have different priorities than what we usually think, but this new layout and brand is hard to justify even in that light
