Are we really friends? 11

Today was the day!
Satsuki could hardly stop grinning as she got ready for the weekend. Not many girls with her mindset would just roll about and face the day so early in the morning, but today was going to be very important to her.
After all, it was going to be the day where Satoru-kun and her were going for a nice proper date after checking how things were going for his mom and aunt. Then again, it was also fair to assume that his interest to check on his mother was more than just a silly worry.
When Satsuki realized her world was fucked, and not always in the pleasant way, she understood one thing: if you want to live a good life with decent ideas and the freedom to be naughty on her own leisure with her partner, she had to be ready to fight for that precious right.
If before she would have disregarded the mere idea that rapists and ill-minded thugs were quite common in this world, now she had the chance to see beforehand what those kinds of monsters really were. Up to that point, humanity has shown some of its ugliness between insanity, pettiness and… betrayal.
But where the last bit would have upsetted her immensely, Satsuki had found a reason to go on. Her family was fine and they were normal despite a few times she caught them trying to give her a little brother or sister, and her current boyfriend was not an easy victim.
Satoru had, however, made it clear one thing: he may be good at predicting issues, but it didn’t make him ‘the Batman’. When she asked for clarification, the tomboy was told more about Batman.
She knew the ‘Greatest Detective’ was known as one of the best heroes in the comics, and that much was clear, but he was good because of his preparation. At least, that was the basic step to understand his ‘power’. Tools were also needed- a good mind is able to become the worst foe of everything through the use of items aptly chosen for the various circumstances.
So, Satsuki thought she could have overruled the need for cumbersome items by becoming strong. And, to some extent, Satoru told her it was a ‘good but partial solution’.
The tomboy hadn’t understood what it meant until she got kidnapped. No amount of physical training unfolding before those events would have made the difference since these bastards had been stronger and better prepared in handling the kidnapping- they weren’t amateurs, and they came close to ‘winning’.
Satoru’s gun came clutch, and the use of it to put down Misako left Satsuki with a rather strange ‘taste’ in her mouth. It was the creeping realization that tools couldn’t always be replaced. Muscles had limits, the human body had limits. She was limited, and she had to rely on ‘crutches’ to attain proper confidence in her survival.
So, Satsuki learned what she could be in need from Satoru. And she went the extra step by acquiring some seemingly innocuous but weird items as she went back to read some doujins, realizing that the reports on ‘monstrous beings’ could also be a thing.
Mask, sunglasses, and a few cans filled with various liquids and objects that she always had on herself whenever she was out either alone or with others. In fact, even as she was happy for the date, she didn’t exclude the chances of someone ‘interrupting this good moment’.
Hence why her trusty bag was with her all the time, 24/7. Once she was done refreshing for the visit at the convenience store owned by Satoru’s aunt, Satsuki was off to get to him.
Her eyes were quickly distracted while her mind methodically plotted various alternative routes in case someone stopped her. Today was a big day, and she was extra determined to not be troubled by anyone!
So, despite some surprise when she heard a loud yelp coming from one of the alleys beside her, Satsuki had been ready to leave before something took hold of her hand and started to pull her into the alley.
Reacting instinctively, the switchblade that Satoru had taught her to use was deployed and cutting onto the source of the yanking. She didn’t expect for a twitching green tendril to fall on the ground, violet blood pouring on the ground as the tomboy finally took notice of the source of it.
“Hm?”
The monstrous plant towered over Satsuki, there was no doubt about it. Its head was made by petals that were twisted in a way to show a human-like pair of lips. Its body was made by numerous thick thorny vines that were bending by the ground and twitching by their edges.
Well, most of their edges as some were wrapped around an unconscious-looking girl wearing a… magical girl costume.
The pink is strong in that girl.
It was preparing to strike, maybe goading Satsuki into running and giving it a thrill in the chase. But Satsuki merely assessed the situation and contemplated the best and ‘cheaper’ way to handle this. A surprise for sure, but not one she wasn’t prepared to face.
Since it was a ‘bad weed’, it was only logical that fire was going to solve it with fire. And she did so by retrieving two items. A spray can and one of the dozens of lighters she had bought at a fairly low price.
The plant was clearly aware of the lighter’s fire, but it was not smart enough to realize what was to happen next. So, when she activated the spray right behind the flame, the sudden spread of the fire caught the plant off-guard. So much that it didn’t register immediately the burning had spread all over its face, wrapping around intensely and then-
“WYAAAAAAAAAAAHHHAH!!!!”
The unholy screeching was annoying, but Satsuki put the two items away as the plant monster uselessly tried to put away the flame. Those were too intense and easily making it impossible to coordinate the process of survival, and Satsuki shrugged as the plant’s head burned away and its body collapsed in dark mist, releasing the magical girl.
Satsuki didn’t stay behind as she had priorities. She made it in time to the visit and then to the date as Satoru and her had a good time. The end result was also a visit to his house and… and they had the most amazing night together.
She was resting against him, faces so close after kissing so much, hands holding as fingers intertwined between them. It was the best cuddle-sleep possible, allowing her to be with her best bro/boyfriend and not have to worry about anything for those blissful hours of slumber.
What she didn’t expect was for a certain Magical girl to make it her mission to thank and know more about her mysterious heroine.

As Cure Happy got off the ground and tried to approach her savior, she was surprised to realize the tomboy was no longer in sight, leaving her with her awe and admiration for her savior go unsaid, those thoughts persisting through the days and weeks as she tried to rationalize why her heart tended to go ‘doki-doki’ about that mysterious girl.
She was, without any doubt, going to find her!

AN
No one expects the gay magical girl trying to rizz the tomboy into her mini-harem. Sadly for Cure Happy, her rizz is not as appetible as Satoru’s normalcy-tier rizz.
Still... odd that there weren't troubles at the Convenience Store. Or maybe... they weren't looking at the right place after all.
