Are we really friends? 14

It was a most calm evening when Satsuki finished her last set of light exercises for the day.
At this point, the set was not enough to make her sweat, plus she was already feeling hungry when the girl realized it was dinner time. Strangely enough however, she was quite sure that her mother should have called to say it was ready.
Then again, it was also true the woman tended to get busy once in a while and maybe it was dad that was cooking. Turns out that her prediction was right. Her father was a good cook- not on par with her mother, but enough to produce some yummy treats.
As Satsuki sat down by the table, the last pieces of the meal were delivered and she was perplexed by the lack of a place for her mom to eat as there were no plates and cutlery for her.
“So, when is mom joining us?”
The kind-looking man that was her father perked up. “Oh? I guess we forgot to tell you- she was asked by a friend to help around at one of the places she has been introduced to. A… I think it was a church or something.”
…
There was no way this was just a coincidence. She knew that the chances of this being small since there were other churches around but- but she knew that this world was just that bad.
“Did she tell you what kind of church? Kind of weird for mom to just go to one?”
Considering the fact that her mother wasn’t that much of a spiritual person, it was fair to say the situation was weird. And she could tell her father was also worried to some extent as he nodded in agreement to her words.
“I believe it was Catholic, but she said another word.”
“Orthodox?”
The girl tensed up as she saw the man nod in confusion. “Yes but… what’s wrong, Satsuki-chan? Is there something you know about that place?”
“...”
For a moment, no words came to mind. Satsuki was too busy thinking and overthinking. Her mother had been lured in the demon’s nest- her mother!
It was hilarious how much she had thought her parents to be the kind of couple that wouldn’t be put through that sort of situation, but the girl wasn’t the kind of moron that would just let this sort of shit happen under her watch.
Her hesitation perished the moment her irritation took over, a stern and serious look manifesting upon her face.
“Dad, I don’t have time to explain but I need you to call this number and tell them that they are doing things at the church.”
He was even more confused, but also worried. “W-What things? Satsuki-chan, you’re scaring me-”
“Bad things. You need to make that calls now while I-”
“Y-You are not going to check on your mother on your own!” He tried to sternly object. “Young girl, I will just call the police-”
“Dad,” She angrily slammed her fists on the table, making the entire thing tremble and silencing the man. “It’s not a joke, there’s some crazy stuff happening there the police can’t help with.”
He appeared baffled by this affirmation, but while he looked ready to oppose her further, he took notice of the glare she was giving him. Satsuki wasn’t lying, this much he could say but… but he felt this could have been handled better.
Yet, he just nodded, barely noticing her rushing back to her room, packing a bag, putting on a jacket and retrieving a small gas mask. He called, surprised it was another church answering but… also receiving news that the place his wife went at was infested by a family of demons.
By the time his parental instinct kicked in, Satsuki was already on the move and rushing through the streets.
And the girl wasn’t having fun with the kind of cocktail of adrenaline and pure anger ripping into her chest. She needed a brief distraction while also doing something ‘smart’ within what she knew many would call a stupid assault into a trap.
With her phone in reach, she dialed her boyfriend’s number and hoped for him to be still awake at this hour.
“Satsuki? What’s- what’s going on?”
His sluggish tone was troublesome as he sounded about half-asleep. This was bad.
“Toru-kun. The church, they got mom.”
“Sa-Satsuki?! What do you mean- I will be there in-”
“I can’t wait. I will be already in by the time you get there- I can’t let them hurt her!”
He knew it, she knew that he would understand her, but that didn’t stop him from snapping back at her.
“Don’t you fucking dare going in there without backup, you idi-”
The call was promptly ended as she was standing right in front of the church. She knew that she was going to need that back-up, but she couldn’t afford to wait. At least the doors were open, and she quickly readied the water-rifle for the confrontation.
Satsuki didn’t like it. Demons were not the kind of foe she could just smack left and right with her bare fists, and she was not a good ‘shooter’. The nice hit she got on Misako?
She was driven by pure instinct, and she was relatively close. The handgun was also lighter and less ‘clunky’ to grasp compared to the soaker, and yet she wasn’t stupid enough to ditch it to fight barehanded.
The cross she put around her neck reacted the moment Satsuki entered the church. It felt ‘colder’ as her body heated up at the unpleasant feeling of pressure exerted within the walls of the building.
The girl’s mind was quickly brought to the explanation Satoru gave her about the feeling of that corruption. The more she stood there, the more she would get cursed. She had to move fast to find her mother or become a fucking braindead slut.
Luckily for her, the place wasn’t that big in terms of room’s numbers, but the massive ceremonial area sure gave her the chills. Satsuki advanced rapidly through the central path, her eyes aimed at the priest as he was clearly doing some sort of ritual with her mother and other women. They were all stripped down, but they hadn’t been abused as far as she could see.
“Hm? An uninvited guest?”
The large doors that she had opened closed behind her, sealing Satsuki alone with the priest and the women he was trying to ‘do things with’.
“And a female at that. A young fertile girl that is just begging for trouble. What is your name, darling~?”
Satsuki was glad that her mask was on, pink gas suddenly rushing at her and failing to penetrate the filters of the special gas mask. Instead of actually appearing unfazed, however, the girl faked it. She loosened her stand, her steps as she approached the demon sloppy and yet pushed- forced.
He didn’t seem to notice, spreading his arms in a joyous manner, smiling as she got closer and closer when-
“AARRGH!!!”
She got a clean shot and gave him a nice facejob with the holy water. Turns out he didn’t like it, nor was he hurt enough to not retaliate. A kick sent her flying several feet, rolling on the ground and… losing her bag.
Shit.
The priest hummed mirthfully, growling as he tried to choke her and remove her mask… but he was caught off-guard when Satsuki decked him on the nose and broke it from the loud crack-like noise that came from the impact.
It was a risk, but she was now without much to use and… and it worked. The punch had landed. It had seemingly wounded the demon priest, but as she prepared to retract her arm, her brain went blank for a brief moment- her mind growing lighter within a mere instant.
It wasn’t the corruption, it was the pure and utter pain that came to her.
One moment she was pulling back her right arm and then it was flying away from her body. Blood pumped out of her stump, agony searing through as she screamed against the gloved palm of the tall priest as he grasped her and raised her up.
“Cute. But I think I prefer you a bit more broken and- UGH!” The man paused, a loud bang coming from behind him as something struck the back of his head.
Soon he appeared once again furious, his gaze aimed at the girl, but no longer focusing on her as before.
“This little lamb has a shepherd?”
He dropped her on the ground, unceremoniously and unpleasantly. The cold floor greeted her but she heard footsteps approaching. Soon, she felt someone crouching right by her body, her eyes straining to open and-
“Dummy,” Satoru muttered, wrapping some cloth around her stump and applying some medical alcohol.
It stung horribly, but the girl was already in enough pain and numbness that it didn’t matter to her. “Sorry. But mom-”
“We’ll have a big talk once this is all done. You’re making it, hun.”
She smiled, and she wanted to believe him. But she was bleeding too fast, and no one with medical skills capable of patching her up was coming. As it was, the strong tomboy that was Maji Satsuki was… dying.
She was bleeding out, her body was depleting any energy it had left as the corruption ate at her life force and left her even weaker than she should be in normal situations. The battle resumed, but she couldn’t focus on it as her eyes shut down again, her mind drawing out of the real world and receding back into her subconscious.
She was falling asleep- she was dying. It was over…
…
…
So, why was she still alive?
In a moment, her eyes opened and she found herself in some… some old living room. The feeling of corruption persisted, but it wasn’t as oppressive as the one in the church. The only noise coming to her ears was the quiet wall-clock on the side… as the other occupant of the living room, sitting right in front of her, was giving her an amused look.
A young woman with long red hair and violet eyes that was wearing a rather revealing red outfit. She had a mirthful look as she sat on her chair, a strange halberd sitting by the side and… and two horns protruding from the side of her head.
“Well, well, well… I didn’t expect someone to actually do enough to get my attention, but I have to say it’s the first time I am dealing with a… Hmm… Japanese? That’s what I can pick from your mind-”
“G-Get out of my head.”
“Impossible, girl. We both are here and you may have unconsciously called for me.”
This made no sense. Another demon? Was this a minion of the priest?!
“W-Who are you? How do- How do I leave this place?!” She had to go back. She had to help Satoru and- and yet her plan faltered as the woman shrugged and replied with a smug look.
“Oh, me? I am Satan. Do you want to be my friend, Satsuki…-chan~? If you help me, I will help you too in return. I just want to… kill a disrespectful bug, that’s all. Got it~?”
…This just got weird. And Bad.

Friendly Satan?! Or at least I hope so

Before I saw the picture, I read all of Satan’s lines in the voice of SMT4 Apocalypse Satan. After seeing the pic, I could just picture her saying “I am Satan, the ancient angel. The arbiter.”.
