EDIT: I have been thinking of writing something like this in a while. Especially after reading Roommates: Memoirs of the Hairless Ape. I found the concept wonderful, same for the plot, but I found the multiple versions of Bonnies, Chicas, Freddies and Foxys/Mangles to be quite tedious to handle as a reader. So… this will not have that!
Life is a struggle. Especially when you got the truest taste of date in the form of a bite. One aiming from the frontal lobe.
That is how Jeremy Fritzgerald had long construed the truest cause of many of his problems.
He took a job at 17 as a Security Guard for the Night Shift at the newest place of the Freddy Fazbear’s stuff back in 1987, thought he was THE MAN by literally surviving a full week handling numerous attacks from the Toy Animatronics, the old Animatronics, the Puppet and… and that hideous thing!
He had been told he could have quit- hell, Jeremy could still remember the surprised look on Mr. Emily’s face when he decided to go on with this so… it was on him. He was supposedly meant to just enjoy the day shift since things had gotten intense with the Animatronics. Fritz got the night shift so that should have been covered but-
But then his mistake, the one of dropping his guard while keeping track of the kids, bit him squarely in the face. Jeremy had barely registered the radio static coming from the balls pit, and he barely moved as Mangle roared forward, her maw open and slamming her jaw onto his upper skull.
The agonizing pain made him faint on the spot. Some of the parents moved to help, dismantling the monstrous animatronic as she refused to let go of Jeremy and- and then he was gone.
He would wake up in the hospital the next two days.
The bite had messed up his skull, but it had not clamped on his eyes or anything important. Some bits of hair were now missing as the doctors had rapidly patched up the cuts and wounds on his head. The bitch had not ripped a chunk of meat off his head, but it sure hurt like the bitch she was.
Mangle was dismantled for good. That’s what Mr. Emily said. He paid the medical bills, even went as far as paying a full week to Jeremy for the kind of hell he went through. But all the tabloids were bashing the restaurant and old stories came up.
This wasn’t the first Bite accident. The Bite of 87 joined the Bite of 83 in the record of deadly events that had stained the child-friendly brand. But Jeremy didn’t follow the rest of the events that followed. It was a discontinued series of messes left and right… and none compared with his life.
He had gotten there to make some quick buck. He was orphaned when he was ten, had been living paycheck by paycheck as he started to do jobs at 16 and… and he hated how difficult it was after that to land a good job. A lasting job.
Everyone thought he lost something, that Jeremy was crazy and thus a liability to keep beyond a few months. But the truth was that Jeremy’s true loss was the hope of finding that inner peace he had thought worthy of.
Gone were the sleepless nights as Mangle would keep haunting him through the static buzzing of the TV’s screen back in his room. Memories of their hunts, of their attempts at his life. And then he was awake.
Tired, unhappy and drained beyond relief.
He came close twice to land a relationship, but nothing worked as his nightmares and his paranoia made any bond unable to proceed too far before it was struck down early on.
Years and years went by… and then, as he hit 65, Jeremy Fitzgerald realized he had to do something or else he would be cursed forever.
His life had been ruined, he barely could handle work as he was now, but he had an opportunity to still fix the one issue that had lingered within him the most- Killing his own nightmare by seeing how that was no longer a thing.
The news of more oddities coming from Fazbear Entertainment continued for decades, and it was only after the report of Mr. Emily’s passing that things went quiet for good.
Animatronics were now regularly checked before being ‘shipped’ for birthdays and other celebrations for children, kids loved the things despite how dead the trend of having those things around was and…
And then the Pizzaplex was built.
The place housed the four ‘new’ faces of the brand. Glamrock Freddy, Glamrock Chica, Roxanne Wolf, and Montgomery Gator. New faces, same uneasy factor and nightmares but… but Jeremy took the challenge by the horns this time around.
He got a letter from the owner of the place, someone that had wanted to meet him for something big- no, huge. Dressing well, he fixed his face to appear decent. The scars of the bite had long faded, but his left eye tended to flinch from time to time due to stress.
So, he tried his best to be as calm as possible as he sat down in the office owned by-
“Mrs. Afton.”
“You may call me ‘Lora’, Mr. Fitzgerald. We are quite like family.”
In what sense, you crazy old hag?
There was no way in Jeremy’s mind that he would accept the indecent proposal the senile bitch was trying to force down his throat. To obtain ownership over the Pizzaplex? The woman was trying to give him trouble- like hell he trusted the wife of the late and very murderous William Afton.
“Are you sure? I can assure you that-”
“I lost forty-eight years of my life in those nightmares, Lora. I am not accepting this shit!”
The grandmotherly warmth was gone at this point, but Jeremy was too old to give a solid fuck about it. He boarded his car after speedily leaving the place, ignoring waves of kids and adults trying to get to the latest show available and… he was gone.
The car’s engine was roaring as he speeded fast to get home. He felt too stressed, his eyes twitching both a few times as he tried to make sense of the roads in front of him. He felt sluggish, and Jeremy turned on the radio.
Some music, regardless of it being some good stuff of the past or the trashy stuff of modern times, was going to shake him off this funk. Yet, the man froze as he heard static coming from the radio.
His hand whipped the device off… and the noise continued despite it. Tensing up, eyes wide open, Jeremy slowly turned as he realized the noise was coming from…
Right behind him.
As he snapped to look behind, he screamed as Mangle appeared from the rear seat, the monstrous animatronic slamming onto him right as his car steered away from the street and went to crash on the wall.
…
Or that was what he remembered before waking up with a deadly headache.
“BOOOOOOSSSSSS!!!” A loud female voice erupted from a door nearby, the even louder knocking not helping Jeremy with his migraine.
Growling, the man patted both hands on his head as he rested his nose against the desk.
“B-Busy!”
Instead of paying respect to his hurting brain, the source of the yelling breached in by kicking the door open.
“Worry not! I got the hangover cure with me here, boss!!”
Why is she so fucking loud!??
Despite his many whines, Jeremy glared with attention at the glass that was shifted to his hands on the desk. He saw its murky color and yet downed its content immediately.
“I’ll check for some aspirin. Just hold on, boss.”
The voice was now softer, making Jeremy realize that the reason he heard her so louder was due to how incredibly wrecked he was at the moment. His mind was scrambling to recollect how he ended up like this.
Did he drink himself to sleep again? No, actually, how come he was a ‘boss’ to anyone? Was this his workplace? When did he get hired in any job?!
The questions were raining upon his hurting head, but it wasn’t the worst part just yet. As his eyes got to a better shape in understanding his surroundings, Jeremy felt his heart sinking down as he recognized this as the office where he had been ambushed by Mrs. Afton and… and he was sitting right where she had been sitting.
He was still himself, but did that mean he accepted?! How?!! He felt his eyes twitching again when he spotted one of the pictures by the desk and the man suddenly felt his mind go blank.
Up to this point, nothing had prepared him to see the picture of what looked to be the Pizzaplex’s band. The Glamrock Group… except… except…
WHY THE HELL WERE THEY NOT ANIMATRONICS?!
His throat burned as he felt bile forming up and readying him for a barfing session as he made sense of these four clearly alive entities that were supposed to be the band he was ‘the boss’ of.
Maybe it was costumes- like the good old times! Yes, like how Mr. Emily told him ages ago the brand would work with and-
“Boss, I got the aspirin, just wait for me to get you some water and… uh…” The girl that had been speaking with him was now stepping inside his office, and Jeremy looked at her.
He looked at her for a while and she felt the attention as she squirmed under his confused look. She was clearly a female and one that was supposed to be a security guard by her outfit alone. But beyond her blonde hair and strawberry red eyes… That woman was not human.
His jaw dropped as he was looking at a young woman that looked like a bunny with her twitching nervous ears, tense white fur and squirming puffy tail.
“B-Boss? Is- Is everything alright or- BOSS!” As the guard bolted towards him, Jeremy finally noticed he was having a heart attack. “Don’t worry! I know what to do- trust me!”
Surprisingly enough, the girl actually knew what to do but… Jeremy was unsure if he was ready to live this chapter of his life by becoming part of something so familiar and yet so disturbingly different from what he feared each night…

AN
Welcome to the Family, Jeremy! And welcome, my readers, to this wacky idea of mine which involves an interesting AU.
As mentioned, this is based from the Roommates AU and, I have to say, the plot I have in mind is going to be quite easy to digest and understand! Especially when things will mostly involve understanding each member of the band and their backstories.
Freddy and his need to be selfishly selfless;
Chica and her eating disorder;
Roxanne and her anxiety/high expectations issues;
Monty and his failure in keeping up with Glamrock Bonnie’s rep;
Lastly but not leastly, Vanessa and her quarrel with her family (and genetic mental issues).
…Also, I wonder what happened to Mangle…
