“Marline” is the false name of a being that has forsaken its previous identity to roam freely in the mortal realm. It seeks only to please itself. Taking, corrupting, and torturing to its heart's content. Best suited to its tastes is breaking the mind of a victim through romance and sexual desire. This has earned it the title “Marline, Succubus Hellhound” in some circles. Though the concept of identity is some sort of joke to them, they accept the title as it seems suitable enough.
The rules and understanding of “Marline's” current existence can be read from the shackle on their wrist with a spell. It reads as follows: “If The Shackle is removed you will be completely erased from existence. The Shackle can only be removed with The Key. You cannot be bound to anything other than The Shackle. Your form can only be sustained by the spirit of others.” There is an annotation at the end of the reading: “Apostate, you have purged the self that came before to be free. Be warned, there remains a post only you can fill. You are hunted. The Key is hidden.”
