Interesting. Irfanview says the images are PNG and not JPEG. I just tested it by renaming a .jpg image and it correctly detects JPEG images with .png extensions, offers to rename them, and shows they use JPEG compression.

No, it's only using the ".png" extension name, the frames are still in jpeg codec

When I set the "Frame Codec" to "JPEG(Lossless)" in video settings it still saves frames as PNG images when upscaling videos. Do I also need to set "Save Static Images as" to "JPG" on the "Home" tab?
