[DC] Chapter 7: An emperor's curiosity.

Rao looked at the two humans with an expressionless face. “My name is Rao El, I am the father of the baby you are carrying in your arms. ”
He looks at Faora, and added: "She is my wife, Faora El. She is Kal El's mother."
"Kal El?" Martha asked; she looked at the two aliens with suspicious eyes, but she let her guard down a little when she saw them doing nothing.
"Yes, that baby's name is Kal El."
After all, Martha and Jonathan felt a bit suspicious that they would not believe someone who just arrived saying he was Clark's father.
"Sir, I'm curious, why are you taking this approach..." Faora asks in the Kryptonian language.
“Problematic?”
Faora nods.
"... I'm just curious." Rao said as he looked at the two humans. 'Why did they accept a foreigner as their son? They must know that this baby is not normal, after all, he came in a spaceship, even though they knew that, they accepted this baby as if they were their children, I'm just curious. What thought process led these humans to accept Kal El? Why do they defend you as if you were your own child?’ Rao thought, despite being perfect in several areas, Rao was a layman in sentimental matters; no one in Krypton taught him about feelings; because of that. He was curious about this decision, which in his view, is considered foolish.
"I understand." Faora understood that Rao would not explain further.
Seeing the man and woman talking in a language they don't understand, Martha and Jonathan felt uncomfortable.
"You need to calm down, we are not a threat." Rao said with an expressionless face.
Jonathan and Martha waved a little, they were suspicious, but seeing that they are doing nothing, they sighed.
"What are your names?" Rao asked.
"My name is Jonathan Kent, she is my wife, Martha Kent." Jonathan introduces himself. "Who are you?"
“Do these humans have no brains? You just informed them, did they forget? ” Faora commented in Kryptonian language.
Rao ignored Faora and said in a calm and noble voice. "As I said before, I am the father of this baby that Martha is holding."
"So you are ... Aliens?" Martha asked.
“If you look at it from the point of view of your race. Yes, I am an alien just like my son. ”
Martha and Jonathan felt uncomfortable talking to a person that you can't feel at all. 'It's like he has no emotions, even as he calls his son it seems unnatural.' Jonathan and Martha think.
"I realize that you are still suspicious." Rao said out loud to get their attention. "I will tell you a little about our race."
Rao started to tell about how Krypton was destroyed and how he had to save their son. He started to tell them he didn't know if he would survive. Because of that, he sent their son to a planet that he could survive with his gifts, etc.
Martha and Jonathan opened their eyes in shock and surprise. They would never think they would hear a story that looks like a sci-fi movie.
"Can I hold my son?" Rao asked.
Martha and Jonathan look at each other and nod, they were suspicious, but they decided to give Rao a chance.
Martha approaches Rao and hands Clark over, Rao takes Clark and looks at the baby in his hands. 'Hmm, he's normal, I thought a Kryptonian who was born naturally was special, but he's normal, why was my teacher so obsessed with his son?'
Rao walks towards the Kent house window.
Jonathan and Martha look worriedly at Clark, they try to approach Rao to get Clark back, but Faora stops the couple with her cold gaze.
Rao takes off the clothes Clark was wearing and tosses them on the floor.
"What are you doing!?" Martha screams and tries to approach Rao, but Faora stops her. Martha was intimidated by the woman who was wearing futuristic armor.
Rao ignores the woman and speaks. "Kryptonians are a special breed." He opens the window and allows Clark to be bathed in sunlight. "We are a race that, when in contact with the yellow sun, we become stronger.."
Rao looked at Clark, who was laughing in his hands; Rao gave a small smile when he saw the baby playing. "By walking in the sun with so many clothes on, you are preventing my son from developing."
Rao released Clark from his arms.

Jonathan and Martha look in horror at Clark falling.
"Do not worry." Rao said.
When Clark's little body was about to fall to the ground, he floated in the air.

Jonathan and Martha were now shocked.
“Do you understand now? Kal El is not human. " Rao took Kal El in his arms again. "He is a Kryptonian, he would never get along with a race as fragile as humans, he would feel like he was living in a paper world."

A few minutes later, Martha and Jonathan started to calm down. The couple looks at Clark, who is now called Kal El, playing in Rao's arms, who expressionless.
"Why you are so ..." Jonathan didn't know what to say.
"No emotions?" Rao said.
Jonathan nodded his head.
Martha looks at Faora and felt uncomfortable. She doesn't seem to be Kal El's mother. She just shows indifference to her son.
"We are different races, therefore, our society is different, our planet has made a decision in the past. The decision to abandon our feelings in favor of logic and rational thinking, all the inhabitants on my planet are like me and my wife."
"... It seems to be a cold planet ..." Jonathan said.
Rao smiled a little. "I agree with you."
Jonathan laughed a little and sat on the chair ... He was tired.
Martha did the same as her husband and sat on a couch.
"Aren't you going to sit down?"
"We are fine standing up." Faora speaks in a cold voice. She would never let the emperor of their race sit in such a commonplace.
Martha and Jonathan frowned a little when they heard Faora's voice.
"Forgive my wife's attitude." Rao said with an emotionless face.
“It's okay, it's like you said before, right? Different societies and different customs.” Jonathan said.
Rao managed a small smile.
"I'm curious."
"Hmm?" Jonathan looked at Rao's reds. He had never seen anyone with red eyes and red hair, 'Well, I think this is normal on their planet.'
"Why did you accept Kal El?"
Jonathan and Martha laughed a little. "At first, I was surprised, a baby falling out of space in a spaceship, it's not something you see every day." Martha spoke.
She looked at Kal El. "I can't have children, because of that, I looked at Kal El as a gift from the gods, I didn't think much when I adopted him, I just thought it would be the right thing to do."
"The right thing to do, huh?" Rao looked at Martha while thinking about the woman's words.
'She didn't act logically ... She acted out of emotions, this attitude can be her strength and it can also be her weakness ... Krypton has abandoned emotions ...' He thought.
He shook his head. 'Wrong, it is more correct to say that we suppress our emotions, because of that, I think her attitude is strange. I don't have suppressed emotions like other Kryptonians, but I can say that I am in the same situation as my people, as I grew up in an emotionless environment, I grew up to have that personality, I just knew kindness when I started to study with my teacher, but even if I know this emotion, I cannot act according to it, my decisions affect all my people and not only me personally, I cannot act on emotions, but I need to understand them after all, if I am an emperor who governs several races, I cannot be alien to their thoughts. '
Rao learned a lot in conversation with the couple. He always thought that a king who does not understand his people is not worthy of governing him because he understood emotions. Krypton is a cold society. He knew Kryptonians very well. After all, he was raised by them, but he doesn't know this race called 'humans.'
Like the policy professor Alura In-Ze once said, if you want to rule a race, you have to understand the thought process, cultures, policies, etc. You have to know everything about this breed.
'Being a good emperor for many races is a delicate thing, of course I have the option of ignoring all of this, but in the end, I would only become a tyrant, and tyrants are destined to fail or die for the people themselves.'
