August Script Contest - Deadline Aug 20th!
🕑 Added 2017-08-16 13:11:29 +0000 UTC Last month I launched a new Script Contest that all of my patrons can participate in, regardless of your tier. In July we had 9 scripts submitted for the contest, it was a great kick off! But so far I only have 2 scripts turned in for the August contest. I'm hoping some more of you are going to enter the contest this month, but there are only a few more days to do so!In case you weren't around last month, here's how it works:
- SUBMIT - Paid members of any tier level can submit one script to the contest per month. Scripts should be no longer than 800 words, and must be your own creation (no plagiarism). Deadline to submit your script is Aug 20th at 11:59pm PST. Email scripts to candy@voicelikecandy.com
- READ - From Aug 21-27, all patrons will be able to read the scripts, which will be available online in a private location. The author's names will be kept anonymous, and you will have several days to determine which script you would most like to hear me record.
- VOTE - A Patron-only Poll will be posted on Aug 28, and every paid patron can cast 1 vote for their favorite script. Voting will remain open until Aug 31st at 11:59pm PST. On September 1st, the winning script will be announced! (Author's name may be announced, or they may choose to remain anonymous.)
- LISTEN - I will record the winning script and it will be available as a Freebie - but there is a catch! In order to encourage everyone to participate in the contest, you will only be eligible to receive this as a Freebie if you placed a vote in the poll. (It doesn't matter which script you voted for, just that you voted.)
So, get those creative juices flowing! If you've ever wished you could hear me voice your fantasy, or had a great idea for a role-play scenario but the tier was perhaps out of your budget, now you have a chance to get me to record for you for free! And if you aren't a member of my Patreon yet, you are still eligible as long as you pledge before Aug 20th and meet the script submission deadline.

Well, the problem with 15 minute scripts is that I give my recordings away for $2... and honestly, a 15min script takes me at least 2 hours to produce. That is triple the limit on the Headmaster reward tier, and those patrons pay $24 (per 5 min script) so that is like a $72 recording. Which makes it quite a large prize to give away for free. :/

I think its only fair that the contest Scripts are limited in size. The normal lenght of the records depends on Scripts Candy gets to Record. Longer records are causing more Costs for the patreon that wants it to Record.

Hi Candy, I often find your recordings too short. Excellent but short. Just as I'm getting into it, it ends, sometimes skipping all the juicy details....would you accept submitted scripts upto 15mins long, labouring on the details?
