That damn angel is so annoying. I don’t see why she won’t just give me and Pefsa a few humans. I mean, yeah we’re going to kill them, but after Pefsa takesclenses their souls, they’ll move on to the next world and their bodies will be useless.
But no, little Miss Heavenly Spirit and her adorable face are dead set on protecting them with her cute little hands that shoot holy magic. Things never used to be so complicated for us, but we just had to die and get reborn in another world.
In my old life, I was actually a doctor, which is a bit surprising when you consider that I spend more time now waiting for people to die so I can use their bodies than helping them. I was a tall and handsome man in my late forties.
I had everything I could ever need, a nice home, a loving wife, and tons of friends. I was also healthy. There isn't a thing about my old life that I was unhappy with, but fate didn’t seem to agree, and I ended up catching a deadly virus from a patient that ended up killing me.
When I awoke I was in a dark cave being born to a strange woman, and we were surrounded by a ton of people in black cloacks. I would later learn they were the cult of Necrom, the deity of death in this world.
I grew up in that cult and things were going really well for me. I was apparently supposed to be the reincarnation of their god, so I was treated amazingly well. That was until my sixteenth birthday when they tried to sacrifice me.
It was apparently so I could be reborn in the true image of Necrom, but I wasn’t having any of it and tried to escape. I ended up running into a small goblin village and hiding, but the cult eventually caught up to me and raised the village to the ground to find me.
I was terrified of dying, I wanted to run, but that's when I saw Pefsa for the first time. They were holding her down, and they were about to cut her throat. She looked so young and innocent, I felt so bad that I did this to her and her village.
My body started to move on its own and I jumped into the way of one of the cultist's daggers, and it pierced my heart. My body fell to the ground as my soul stood in its place. I had died. I thought it was over, but Pefsa had told me not to give up.
I turned and looked at her and she said she could see me, but I needed to act quickly. I asked her what I could do, and she told me I needed to resurrect myself, and she’d put my soul back into my body.
I had no idea if I could even do that, but I reached my hand out and sure enough I was using dark magic to reanimate my body. Pefsa used her magic and chanted something and my soul was sucked back into my body.
This did end up having some side effects. Technically my body is dead. I have no heartbeat, but it also changed the color of my body. My hair and skin are pale white almost like a ghost, and my eyes are pitch black.
But I’m so much stronger and seemingly have a limitless amount of dark mana to use. After I was revived, Pefsa and I killed all the cultists. Neither of us had a place here anymore, so we decided to travel together.
We turned out to be a good team. Pefsa was a shaman who was tasked with finding corrupted souls and helping them move onto the afterlife so they didn’t remain here on earth as zombies, spirits, or whatever else.
A lot of the time though it’s quite hard for her because the souls are attached to dead bodies and won't communicate with her, so I revive them and then we work with them until they move on, that’s when I get to claim the body.
Every person I claim I’m able to summon at will anywhere I am. I’m not entirely sure where they are when I’m not using them, but I do know they got into the ground, so I suspect the bodies remain in hell in the land of Necrom until I call upon them.
We continued our travel for a year cleansing souls and claiming bodies, and during that time our relationship blossomed and we fell in love, we started dating, and not long after that, we ended up discovering this village.
It was strange indeed, the people living here all had the scent of death following them, and they were walking around like they were healthy. We weren't sure what was going on, but after discovering an angel lived here we quickly figured it out.
A plague had killed everyone in this village, and the angel was using her powers to keep them alive, well actually it was more to keep them from turning into monsters as they were already dead and the angel didn’t have the power to rescue them fully.
I tried to talk with the angel and explain to her that we had the power to cleanse these people and allow them to move to the next world, but she refused saying it was her duty to remain here and protect the people here.
She then looked at me and said she could help me as well, then she kissed me on the lips. I was so embarrassed and confused, and I know it sounds cliche but her lips felt heavenly. She removed her lips and looked at me confused.
She apologized and said I was beyond her ability, and then she flew off without another word. I turned towards Pefsa who was smiling at me for some reason. I asked her what she was so happy about, and she just teased me saying I had a crush on the angel.
I scoffed. I definitely don't like her. I mean yeah she’s cute, but that doesn't mean I have a crush on her. Pefsa just laughed at me, but said she thought she was cute as well, but also she seemed sort of lost.
Pefsa then mentioned asking her to join us, but that’s not going to happen, especially if we don’t cleanse this town first. Over the coming days, I tried several times to convince the angel and I even tried to do it without her blessing, but she stopped me.
We ended up getting into a fight. I’ll admit it ended up being quite fun, even if neither of us was strong enough to defeat the other. For the first time since transforming, I was able to use my full power, and I was surprised it was enough to match an angel.
Perhaps it was because she was weekend due to constantly using her powers on the village to keep them alive, but still, I’ve heard that even the weak ones are still stronger than most people and monsters.
We’ve had a few fights since our first one, and each one is amazing. I feel like we connect with each other through battle, and from what I’ve learned she is such a caring and passionate angel, she almost seems human, under those wings.
I almost don’t want our fights to end, but Pefsa and I need to cleanse this village so we can move on and help other souls. We need to somehow convince the angel to let us set this village free, but she really doesn’t seem to want to budge on the situation.
Pefsa says she has an idea. She claims to have been watching and talking with the angel, and she thinks she can convince her to let us do our work, but I had to agree to come with her and back up her plan.
I agreed. I’m not really sure what she has figured out, but she’s smart, if she had a plan, I’m confident it’d work out, I just have to have faith in her. As fun as fighting the angel is, I think sitting down with her and talking will be fun.
I’m actually kind of curious about her. I mean why is such an adorable angel here alone, and why is she keeping these people alive like this? Are there no other angels to help her, or some way for her to actually save these people? Perhaps I’ll find out if she’s willing to talk.

Wow... Wow... Thank you so much for this wonderful story... I have so many impressions that I don’t even know where I should start... Well, first of all... You are really good at irony, the doctor who died from -due to a disease which he contracted from a patient in his new life, he became a necromancer, this is really very ironic, thank you for this detail... Secondly, this cult... Tell me honestly, I have nothing against any faith, in my opinion, every person has the right to believe in what he wants, but fanatics are a completely different conversation... Fanatics are not able to stop, general human values are alien to them... They can be compared to dangerous madmen... Yes, not all of them are like that, but still... Okay finally the most interesting thing... We can see a new unknown type of undead... And I really don’t know what exactly it is... Most of all it looks like a classic Lich, but at the same time this creature does not have a so-called “phylactery” so this is not a Lich... What will be interesting to learn about the capabilities of this undead... There are many more interesting points, but I have already described the most striking... Now it’s the turn of my opinion... Well, it’s simple - It’s just a wonderful story thank you very much for it
