Yeah the Jellicle thing is insane and just goes to show that this movie adaptation makes no sense at all. T.S.Elliot found funny the way his little niece mispronounced "dear little cat" because it sounded like "jellicle cats" [or how "poor little dog" sounded like "pollicle dog"]- T.S.Elliot being a poet, he loved to newly invented word and made a poem about all sorts of different type of cats to give to a nephew to entertain him [in a time before cinema and tv, remember] So they jumped from a non-linear, non-sensical poem into trying to force a story for a musical that they didn't really care about (because the goal of the musical is just to have each individual cats songs as vignettes) and now they tried to make an actual narrative out of that. When in reality all of this is simply because a little 4 year old girl mispronounced "dear little cat"
