Something interesting about the first movie is that the director wanted it to be a soulful drama but there was to much studio involvement for him to do anything, I kinda think they learned they’re lesson and let James Gunn do whatever he wants with this movie

I have to disagree a little about Suiceide Squad not having much beneath the surface. There's a lot to be said about the American prison complex sending supervillains to do black ops missions in foreign countries to cover their own involvement in horrific experiments. Although I did wish they delved into it a little more it's still there. Hopefully the Peacemaker hbo max series does more with the themes of The Suicide Squad.

It's a very fun movie. If you can't handle gore, probably won't like it lol
