When I first saw Iron Man 3 in the theatres, I was with my roommate. I had always struggled in explaining my PTSD from the war (Persian Gulf War '90 - '91). But then Tony had his first panic attack and I was floored. i pointed to the screen, crying, and told her "that! That's what I go through!" I appreciate RDJ's performance. And, believe it or now, this movie came out just at the real dawning of social understanding of PTSD, so was the first in major picture terms to display a non-soldier having PTSD. DJ opened a world of understanding for the victims. Where this is not my favorite film, it stands out as a true art piece on many levels. I am glad for the Trevor Slattery character just as a way to lighten things up as the rest of the film is pretty heavy.

For me, it is actually the kid that brings the film down. I just don't like that whole interaction, that and the flimsy suits. But I don't hate it and I am perfectly fine if someone ranks it high. I love how Jen is liking the MCU more with each installment and can't wait for the rest of the ride.

I think this is a good movie but the Mandarin plot twist was the dumbest part of the movie

Iron man 3 is my best iron-man movie also. I understand people may care about the villain of the movie more, but for me, this movie started the principled iron-man personality..The iron-man that is able to stand up to captain america because he believes in his values. So Jen, you're not alone. They're others that also like this movie the best of the three. Love you guys reactions, can't wait for the next movie.

I rate this my second favorite among the trilogy after Ironman 1, so I somewhat relate on differing from the popular consensus. I think Holden made a great point when he said that’s it good for people to enjoy films that other people enjoy less. So true.

That was wonderful! Jen’s connection to Pepper is so heartfelt :) I know many people who also rate Iron Man 3 as the best in the series. The movie made over $1.2B Worldwide at the box office making it the 6th highest grossing comic book movie of all time and second highest solo hero movie with Black Panther earning over $1.3B years later. #teamstark

The truth is, there isn’t a truly bad MCU film. Some are definitely better than others, but if you look at it without bias, there isn’t a truly bad film in the series, despite what some people say. Everything has been a quality production, with good writing and excellent execution.

A great Easter gift! I think generally most people like the movie but they really don't like the Mandarin Twist. I prefer the first Iron Man but I do like 3 more than 2 even tho I find Iron Man 2 more rewatchable and entertaining. 3 is the better movie. The twist doesn't bother me that much. I actually laugh every time cause Sir Ben Kingsley is great and over the top. It has been said the real Mandarin is still out there and he is gonna show up. That's all I'll say on that front lol
