(Early Access) The Eternals Trailer Reaction

Quite a lot went into it, so it's probably going to come down to the wire tomorrow. But I didn't want to leave you empty handed, so here's just our reaction to the final Eternals trailer I'll be posting early next week.

I did like The Old Guard with Charlize Theron. I got some of those vibes from the trailer.

I’m with Jen, the premise is confusing. I heard Jack Kirby so if I understand they are going full on comic book with this film.
I think you are right, pretty sure the emergence is meant to be a celestial being born from the “egg” which is earth, but the birth of a celestial will destroy earth. And the eternals, on the other hand, have grown to love humans and decides to save the humans rather than protect the egg. One thing I am not sure of is the purpose of the deviants, because they were supposed to stop the emergence. My guess is the eternals still have to fight them because the deviants stops the emergence by killing humans, thus lessening the energy that the emergence needs and the eternals are trying to find a solution to stop the emergence while protecting the humans.

Hey Holden, there’s a theory that inside the planet earth lies a celestial egg, and the “emergence” that the snap provided the energy for is a celestial emerging from its egg, thus causing the deviants to come out and try to stop the egg from hatching or kill it or something, hence why the celestials created the eternals to guard the egg from the deviants, not to protect humans.

I think Shang Chi is gonna have a 45 day theatrical head start before dropping on Disney+ premier access. So I imagine Eternals will have at least as many days head start too.
