It just wouldn't come up as much as it would. Sure, there's animals wandering around, but like many of the skills that were nerfed in 5e, there's other skills that could duplicate its effects. But feel free to add it back in if you need. :D
just a question, why is animal handling removed, I would argue it would still be relevant.
