Halloween Monsters Requests!
🕑 Added 2019-07-11 19:52:26 +0000 UTCHey everyone! I'm tossing in a bonus this month for requests. All patrons get a monster request, even if they're at the $3 copper tier. It won't use any of your normal requests for the month.
These monsters will appear in the Halloween issue of BroadSword.
Here's what I need from you if you want to participate:
- A brief 100 words or less description of the monster, specifically what makes it scary.
- The monster needs to probably be CR 8 or less. Higher CRs take up too much space.
- No IP-protected monsters ("Jason Voorhees, It, etc."), which includes some of WotC's IP. If you're not familiar with what can and can't be used, check out monsters by SRD guidelines online.
- Scary stuff only. Joke requests like "my mother-in-law hur hur" will be ignored.
- There's no guarantee I'll make this particular request or that it'll ultimately appear in BroadSword. But since I'm beholden to the subscribers, I will, no doubt, create the content either way. :)

When the book goes into print in October, your request will appear plus your name credited. I'm aiming to have about 30+ monsters in it, so it's first come first serve.

Hey Benjamin! I'm going to save this one for the November (Sci-Fi) issue! I have some cool ideas for it, and I'll probably make it a two parter: one part is the parasite itself, and the other is a template.
A cybernetic parasite from either the planes of Mechanus or a magitech device gone haywire. It integrates itself painlessly into the back of your neck and has wires running up and down the spinal column. It begins to collect data and nutrients from the subject while also keeping them well rested at all times and improving memory recall ten fold. However eventually the machine will be satisfied with the time it spent with a host and begin to slowly turn them machine from the inside out until they become a fully inorganic being called a Wire Wraith(Name can be changed if you wish). The Wire Wraith has all the memories and experiences of the person or creature it infected but has a higher functioning intellect, the objective to use this info to find and infect new hosts, and an innate ability to cast spells like a mid level wizard. It can also turn into a massive tangle of electrical cords and squirm through smaller spaces.
