I have a theory about why so many white converts to Islam are ginger. It is because they are specifically sought out. The Prophet Muhammed used to dye his beard with henna, giving an orange colour. Some Muslims continue this tradition today to seek closeness with the prophet, or in some cases when they have returned from the Hajj. Therefore they see the white gingers as natually representing closeness to the Prophet...which makes them a sought after delicacy, ripe for conversion, in western Islamic communities. (Random bedtime thought not related to this episode, sorry gents)
