[Call for Suggestions] New Playable Race for Deserts

Hope you're having a good day so far.
I'm running a quick Call for Suggestions followed by a poll to get ideas for a playable race to create for the theme for BroadSword Monthly #17—deserts!
What sort of desert-thriving species would you like to play in a game?
Let me know below in the comments. After we get a few ideas, I'll hold a poll.

Playable race: some kind of arachnoid spider-people - tarantulas and scorpions are a big part of desert life after all. Monster: totally should have some kind of giant ant-lion, even the tiny ones are terrifying.
