Awaken | New 5th-Level Adventure for Fifth Edition
🕑 Added 2021-05-20 15:01:03 +0000 UTCAwaken is a Fifth Edition adventure for three to five characters of 5th to 7th level and is optimized for a party of four characters with an average party level (APL) of 5. Although the adventure sees a fair amount of combat, it also requires critical thinking and roleplaying. Players who only wish to fight their way out of situations may not enjoy this adventure.
The adventure takes place as part of the Mystery Island adventure series but is otherwise setting agnostic. This entire adventure and its related parts can be placed into any campaign setting of your choice. You may run this adventure just as it is, but you may also combine this adventure with the other adventures in the Mystery Island series, returning to sections of this adventure where appropriate. Tips for weaving the adventures together are included throughout the document.
Backstory
Far out in the middle of the ocean stands an island of sand, rock, jungle, and creatures. This island isn’t on any map. It isn’t in any history books. No sea shanties share songs of its existence. No, this island is a total mystery. For centuries, it’s trapped explorers, both domestic and extraterrestrial, within its watery borders. Humanoid, animal, fiend, or celestial, no one has ever been able to escape Mystery Island.

Do you happen to know which ones? Discovered this adventure a bit late and trying to dig a handful of maps out of a collection of 100 different links and bundles is proving to be frustrating endeavor XD

Hi Alex, There aren't really any areas on the map specified for grasslands but if you want to use that particular set of rolls you can use them in some of the hill or forest areas designated by trees on the map. -The DMDave Team
Is there a guide for where the different terrain types are on the island? I can see where the forest, mountains, coast, and hills are easily, but I can't distinguish what is supposed to be grassland for random encounters.

Hi Dwayne, As an Electrum tier member, you actually have access to the post which contains both the adventure PDF and all of the digital assets including maps and tokens! (Found here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/51456272) The link is included in the main post under the Assets heading, but just for future reference, you can save time by making sure you go to the Electrum patron post instead of the public free post. Hope this helps! -The DM Dave Team
I wish there would be less links to have to click with these sometimes. I am a new subscriber, about two months, I guess I haven't got used to clicking this one link on this post, then get redirected to another post or another patreon to click some more links there. HA I enjoy the content thus far though

Heya John! They'll all be in BroadSword #15 which should be out either late next week or early June.
DM Dave
I can't remember if we shared it on here or not. But it's from our buddy Adventures Await. They'll all be in issue #15.
Knowing my players, they would not be able to resist venturing to a volcano with an incredible name as Mount Pew Pew Rocky Rock. When I click the link for the adventure, it takes me to Roll20. I don't use that particular VTT and I can't seem to find the Jungle Heat adventure elsewhere. Is it only available on Roll20?

I think we estimated about 1.5 sessions per chapter, so I'd expect 8-10 sessions depending on what your group does and if you use the additional Mystery Island adventures.

How long do you expect it to take to play? Seems like a nice beefy adventure

This might end up as a pull quote haha
DM Dave
lol thanks! Glad you like it. :)

Holy smokes! This adventure is perfect for UVG or Troika. The amount of detail and quality in this 'free' adventure is stunning.
DM Dave
No, it’s right. It’s mostly maps from Into the Wilds.
DM Dave
Awesome!
I cant find the maps over at Cartos? is the link wrong?

So excited just from the bit I've read so far. Firing up my printer now! Great work, glad I finally pulled the trigger on being a patron.
