Poll #297 - Helkara's Archetypes - Pick two more!
🕑 Added 2023-01-27 14:02:49 +0000 UTCHey all,
I'm working on Helkara content over the weekend and should have a ruleset and introduction to it for you all by the 1st.
Currently, there are eight archetypes: Assassin, Bandit, Cultist, Inquisitor, Mercenary, Outlander, Sorcerer, and Warrior.
Below, I've created a list of 10 more that I randomly generated. The top two get added to the list.
I look forward to your choices!

Iβd like to see an engineer/sapper. Sort of a thief/alchemist/artificer. They can find and disarm traps but not effective at thievery/sneaking. Can make things go boom but not heal you. Can build solutions for big problems (bridges:ballistas:clear rubble) but needs multiple party members to transport and operate them.

Yeah, that's why I was going with with Beastmaster. I might end up doing twelve total. Or maybe 20. Who knows XD

Doesn't scavenger conjure a Fallout style rogue image? Maybe an artificer, with or without the magic?
James Tindall
For the Beast Master, I was thinking something close to 2nd AD&D Ranger kit. I believe the original inspiration was the 1982 movie Beastmaster. If I got a second vote, it would be Alchemist or maybe a scholar class with alchemist as a subclass.

One is a barbarian. The other is like... a junk yard guy. I dunno. We'll figure something out haha

What would be the difference between an outlander and a scavenger? Would it be like the difference between a foreigner from another nation vs a foreigner from no nation, like a hermit?
DM Dave
Pretty sure itβs the plot to every sword/sorcery epic ever π
Charles Martin
Plot similarity. In Dragonlance, The Cataclysm was brought on by the King-Priest of Istar trying to ascend into Godhood. The true Gods dropped a mountain on the city, reshaping a significant portion of the continent. Fire and death ensued.

I like it, too. I like 'em all really. I random generated a few, but also added in a few from old movies.

I love the idea of Scavenger. But I could only vote for one.
